Ficus Benjamina Repot

I repot my Ficus benjamina bonsai tree from a terra cotta training pot to a shallow, glazed bonsai pot. I give a few tips on how to repot trees and discuss: root pruning, securing trees to bonsai pots, and using bonsai substrate and sphagnum moss.

I think it looks great! I love the pot! I just bought a set of ceramic drill bits and Target has bowls and plates for $5 and $10. They look exactly like your little pot there. I am going to try and drill some holes to make them a bonsai pot.

Thank you, much appreciated! The pot did indeed transform the tree into something I like much more now. Great idea - that's a great way to save money, as bonsai pots can be kind of expensive. I remember watching a video where someone made some pots out of teacups using that method. I hope it works well for you.

Yes, the sphagnum slurry is functional. The aesthetic didn't appeal to me at first, but it's growing on me.

The Inland Northwest of the United States - northern Idaho (USDA Zone 6A). I was originally going to name the channel 'Bonsai Inland Northwest' but that seemed to long so I dropped the 'Inland'.
