The Concert 5-String Viola comes set up from high to low as: E-A-D-G-C, but you could also choose to change it to A-D-G-C-F (we are not able to offer it like this at this time), or you could also change to octave viola strings to make the ultimate Chin-Cello.

Glad to see 5-string viola become more mainstream.Now if there were only more options for a viola e string. You mention the 15 1/2" -- is the 16 1/2 " available? About a year ago I got a custom made, $4000 instrument, so I'm not really in the market now but I approve of your introduction of this instrument.

Short arms more of a problem on viola than short fingers. But the longer scale makes intonation less tricky, especially in the higher positions.

I was recently looking at a 1725 5-string viola. They existed in the 17th century (Bach wrote for the 5-string viola), but I've never seen one from that period.

You Fiddlershop guys crack me up. Thank you for sending the Viola I ordered up to Toronto, lovely! Now, can you come up with a comfortable sound bubble helmet for my "little dog, too"? My dachshund/terrier doggy from Louisiana, our darling 8 yr old 'rescue' mut we have for 4 yrs now, starts to howl in pain on E string and higher up. It makes for tough practising! Thank you! Some dogs are unfortunately finicky when it comes to different frequencies. Some also seem to be allergic to poorly tuned instruments, for some strange reasons. Thanks for sharing 😍😍
