1:01 It's OK to put a Hollow Ball End HIgh E String (although the Kaplan Non-Whistling E String includes an adapter) on a Single Hook Fine Tuner, & this is actually less likely to snap your E String especially if the prong is sharp.

Pirastro (and a couple of other companies) do make Violin A Strings that have a Removable Ball Ends such as the Wondertone Steel Violin A String.

@UCytTZDaLZaplTKMnTHh-hTQ There are also High E Strings for 5 String Violas & they have a removable ball end. I'm getting a 5 String Electric Cello which I'll be using Helicore Medium Tension Cello Strings plus a High E String for Cello.

Yup! You could also get a low F instead. Or you could also just go off the grid and make up your own tuning system 🤣🤣

@@Fiddlershop Isn't the Cello High E String a removable Ball end? 5 String Cellos with a High E are one of many types of Cellos that can cover any Violin Sheet Music down an Octave.

I have removable fine tuner, should I remove them besides the e string? I’m not sure how it affects the sound.

If your pegs are turning smoothly and tuning with them is pretty easy for you, you can definitely remove the other 3 fine tuners. The fine tuners just add some weight to the tailpiece, and the sound could improve slightly if they were gone. It's also a little more aesthetically pleasing without them. The good thing is, you could try removing them and if you miss the convenience of having them, you can always put them back on.

What is a two prong vs single prong I’m not noticing the difference

Thanks for watching! A two prong fine tuner is used for ball end strings. A one prong fine tuner is usually used on E strings for loop end strings.
