Always used ball ends. Been playing for quite a while but never knew most of this. Thanks.

So far the most straight informative video I've found about ball/loop-end strings. Thanks.

Can someone please explain if it would be safe to take off the fine tuners (want to remove them from the G D A strings :3) from the Whitner tailpiece (first kind) on my own?

We would definitely not recommend it! They're not really designed to be removed; and really it would be easier/more recommended to have a non-composite tailpiece installed.

Hello, I am using the fine tuners that go away from the tail piece. I am just trying to place the string into the fine tuner, but the problem is either: A) the prongs are too close together or B) the wrapping around the string is too thick Could you please give me some advice on how to fix the fine tuner as the string cannot easily slip into the prongs

This is actually quite common, as many guy or synthetic strings are thicker than steel strings, which many fine tuners are made to fit. I would recommend using a butter knife or fine screwdriver to pry it open a little bit. This has worked for me many times.

Great video thanks for the time. Who makes the professional style tailpiece you use in this video? Thanks again.

Most of the tailpieces in this video are made in India or by Wittner. You can find lots of tailpieces in the SHAR Workshop: www.sharmusic.com/Accessories/SHAR-Workshop/

Thank you very much! I accidentally pulled the E-string off the tuner and I hadn't paid attention to how it was before. Simple, but I had it totally wrong!

ty for your clearly shown examples and worded explanations as you demonstrated all these options. 💫

We call those 'fine tuners' saddles on a guitar. They serve almost the exact same purpose. Fine-tuning for intonation.
