10/10 instructions. Thanks for the help. Something to note is the pump won’t stay running if there’s air in the lines.
@jeffcollop Жыл бұрын
If there is a LOT of air, you are correct. Some air, allows.the pump to keep running..the cavitation detection is too sensitive.

A little tip, the bigger the funnel you can put or whatever you can find/think of (instead of that 2L cut in half) the more liquid weight you will have which will force liquid pressure into the system. To avoid a mess, have a buddy help by holding whatever you use full of coolant so it doesn't tip over and spill everywhere, also if you have a turkey baster to remove coolant from whatever you use when done, you can avoid a mess when removing it.

That's a great point and I appreciate you sharing it.

Thanks for posting. Very useful DIY info. By the way, your top primary coolant tank (passenger side) is low. It should ALWAYS be completely full. Hard to see on the vid, but at 2:14 - 2:17 it looks like the lower (surge) tank is empty and it's letting air into the top tank.
@jeffcollop5 жыл бұрын
Incorrect, it is a Surge Tank. The coolant level is correct, depending on the temp of the coolant system/engine will depend on the level of the surge tank. Check your manuals.

Hey did you pull all the dex cool out and run straight water and water wetter or anything like that? Assume same on z06? Just got the car for road course work and haven't even looked yet. Thanks for the video

Thanks for the video. New in camaro world. IC is cooled by the radiator water? Also do you use water wetter ?thanks!
@jeffcollop3 жыл бұрын
IC is cooled by the IC cooling system it is NOT shared with the radiator. No I do not use water wetter, it's snake oil.

So you ran your car for 4 hours straight? Or you turn it on, bleed, turn it off, wait 20 minutes, repeat?

Great video!! For those of us that daily drive or weekend Warriors, would you still recommend this be done? What are the advantages and disadvantages? How often do you pop it to bleed? Thanks Bro!!!
@jeffcollop5 жыл бұрын
It's worth checking because it's so easy to do and yes, many 100% factory cars that have never been touched have this issue.

How do you know if it needs bleeding?
@jeffcollop Жыл бұрын
If you street drive the car, you don't need to worry about it. If you track, I'd check, use the process I provided to see if you have air trapped in the system. You'll know pretty quick if it was worth your time.
@neckofthewoods242 жыл бұрын
i dont notice issues on mine. should i just check?
@jeffcollop2 жыл бұрын
If you are tracking it, I would check. If you are just street driving it or doing drag racing, as long as it has fluid I don't think it will make a huge difference.
