I like your videos from the prospective a dairy farmer. I have a suggestion, either invest in some ear plugs or a set of ear muffs to protect your hearing. I speak from experience as my right ear hearing is about 75% of my left due to a combination of military service and 30+ years of dairy farming.

Brent had a big win when he hired ya'll to help him in his tie stall dairy. He may not even know how he has won so big when he hired ya'll to help him. The ground looks way too wet for mowing unless you had a hover craft. As the muck is spinning up. The big thing that would not help with a Pottinger mower is it would increase the ground pressure on the rear tires thus needing dual rear tires to increase the tractor float ability but would be a better mower since it's cutters would be in better shape not prone to failure. Not sure how fast the ground will recover after mowing so wet. Probably rear duals would be good for the rest of her duties and not hurt her performance.

I can relate to the wet fields, I had to rake some hay out of the standing water onto dry ground for it to dry. It was a little muddy but the cows will eat it I'm sure. BTW I have a Krone disc mower and I like it better than a Kuhn, but any disc mower is better in damp hay than a sickle bar is. Great to see a young person so capable and loving farming.

Taylor I was thinking when you were showing us the field the 1066 would have no issue with power in cutting that tall thick hay. If you have an extra plastic or metal small tool box bolt a couple magnets to the bottom. Place on the 1066 fender to store stuff. God bless you

Nice to see the 1066 back to work! Simple fix for the Kubota is good news. With the limited run time with diesel in the oil, it has gotten a great engine flush to boot.

Hi Tay, I forgot to mention in my comment that i mow alll fields like that unless they are really small, i go 6 times around the outside with 13’ mower and /or 8 time with 10’ mower to have room at end of fields to come out of windrows with tractor n baler especially if square bailing then I split field in middle and mow out, less travel at end of field to travel without mowing and have less short rows all in middle less sharp turning around especially with square baler and wagon. Hope that makes some sense lol 😊

Makes perfect sense! Sounds like a great way to go about it, hopefully your getting better hay weather up your way!!

To anyone watching those differential locks only help when at least one wheel must be on solid footing as most people know, however you can destroy the axle gears if you turn with heavy equipment on rear and have a full bucket on the front loader ..it cost me $8 grand on my Massey 231.. todays tractors are not over built like in the old days.

Hey Taylor- Nice to see a New England farmer telling our story. While I feel bad for so many farms out west that do not have enough moisture, we sure could afford to send some of ours to them! Thanks for the idea of what you and Brent did today, have him go ahead in the four wheeler to scout for the wet spots, deal with the same thing here. I am going to discuss with my wife in hopes we can implement a similar approach. I hope you get that feed put up in the best way, late feed is not bad feed, just different. More like second cut than first. Great video for those of us in northern New England. Stay dry.

Great video Taylor. In Eastern Oregon we've had over 10 days over 💯 and most of the others are in the 90's. So we're dry and hot but great harvest weather. Wheat is probably close to finished with onions starting soon, having is never ending. Most will get 4 or even 5 cuttings.

As usual, great video Taylor. I was wondering if your return row would be straight. Whenever you try to cut across a field like that, you can never bring it in straight! I know all about that those many years ago working for my Dad. No matter how you tried, straight as an arrow for the first 5/8 of the way and suddenly you can't buy a straight edge!! Happy the ol' Int'l is at peak performance. The mowing job for the most part looks really good! Hope the rain stays away. You don't need any more "mudlage videos"!! Thanks for the ride-along!!

I love your videos. I hope you don't mind me saying. I know you can't help having to spread manure with what you have due to the costs of upgrading to better equipment costs a fortune. However, when you plan to spread liquid manure with an open tractor, make sure you check the weather forecast to make sure there's no strong winds coming. One farmer was spreading liquid manure with an open tractor like yours and the wind picked up and the wrong way and it blew a load of liquid manure on him and all over the read part of his tractor where he sits.
