It’s a shame that society only considers artists to be painters, musicians etc. I would submit that THIS is true art. I’ve learned so much from these videos.

As someone who has had to teach himself how to hunt. I want you to know I really do appreciate these videos. This is honestly the scariest part of hunting for me. I really want to be respectful of the animal I kill but I've also never had anyone to show me how to skin an animal. I'm not perfect at it but I've definitely gotten a hell of a lot better and one day I know I'll be able to show my son thank you

Really love this, James. No worries, we're sure you can pull it off and by the time you'll be showing how to do it to your son, he'll be cherishing that moment with you his whole life. 😉

I’ve never hunted but I’m curious why this part of the hunt is nerve wracking? Is it due to inexperience, attracting other animals, contaminations? I’m interested to hear about why.

Congrats on your beautiful elk! Sorry you didnt get one here in Montana but we sure hope youll come back and try again. Food for your family that lived a free life as God intended with no chemicals steroids or antibiotics. Plus the slaughterhouse and egg production facilities the animals are wading around in their own manure and living in fear. What a blessing to know your family is eating an animal that lived free and naturally and died humanely. Ive learned alot from your videos and this winter put up 3 deer an elk 3 wethers and 3 lambs. My 2 year old cant get enough of my sausages and eats chili like a Texan!! I admire you guys and thank God for your success in business and life!

As a Canadian I find guided hunts to be strange, but I do understand that there are places where they are the only option. Good job 👏
@vitaly6312
@vitaly6312 3 жыл бұрын
I thought so too, but then I remember that they’re busy and live in Ohio and have to travel elsewhere for elk. At the point it’s probably convenient to get it done with help if experts. If you’re living in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming or Montana then it’s probably just worthwhile to DIY an elk hunt. I certainly would entertain a brown bear hunt in Canada (in the places where it’s not yet illegal) or an Alaskan moose hunt.
@HardRockMiner
@HardRockMiner 3 жыл бұрын
@@vitaly6312 - I've hunted Canada for most of my life and DIY is the only way I've done it. I've guided for friends and friends of friends, but I don't take money for it. I'll take sone meat though. The prices these guides charge should be illegal.
@benparry5318
@benparry5318 3 жыл бұрын
@@HardRockMiner funny, I'm a Canadian and don't find anything strange about going on guided hunts. If you want to hunt a species that isn't available where you live, or if your draws don't hit, you either go somewhere else and hunt with a hunter-host (if that's legal) or you pay a guide. Or you stay home and don't hunt. Guides charge for a service provided and in accordance with what kind of animal it is and the quality of the animal. If you want to hunt Dall Sheep then you had better live in the NWT or Yukon or be prepared to cough up money to pay a guide. But complaining about the price of an outfitted hunt is stupid.
@HardRockMiner
@HardRockMiner 3 жыл бұрын
@@benparry5318 - Thanks for your 2 cents. That's about all it's worth to me too. I'm 53 years old and I've hunted from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island. My trophy room is full and so is my freezer. None of these things happened because of a "guide." If you're a good hunter and you live in Canada, you have no need to be guided.. I guess you're just not a good hunter. There are more animals here than people. Maybe as you get older you'll become wiser..? Don't count on that though..It doesn't always happen.

Successfully taking elk every year requires many days and weeks of scouting early in the year. You can be the best shot and meat processor on the planet but if there arent elk where you are hunting you wont get one!! They are creatures of habit and food sources change most every year. You need to find the herd and watch it. Find out where they eat, what they are eating, where they water and bed. The BOYS are pretty busy from what I can see so they have to get guides. For me the early work is the most fun.

You two are amazing. Not for your sponsors or the gear you use. You two have skills that are damn near dead. That will prove useful in the near future. You know independent butcher meat processing mom and pops shops are close to extinction. Matter of fact you can search for processors in Rapid City SD USA. We got one serving 100's of surrounding area. It shows one more equals 2. The fact that you can is something to be proud of. Something I seen more and more of is people cutting the antlers off and leave the rest of the carcass to rot. People who do this need a good talking to. This season I stopped counting at 17 deer carcasses. So sad cause so many people I know personally would appreciate the meat. I just want to be sure you both know I appreciate you and all you do including the videos. A country boy can survive PS if you guys need a spot to squat and set up a hunting camp for seasons. You can always squat on my property. I know, I'm a stranger and you probably wouldn't do that. I'll extend the olive branch and your welcome. No hookups so bring what you need. There's an outhouse to work out any issues and the paperwork makes good fire starter.

I know many would think, how barbaric to cut this poor animal up. Thing is, the respect and reverence you harvest the animals with, be they at your business or in the wild, you guys talk about the ways to make sure your harvest is clean, not frivolous and safe. You do this with a respect that I have only seen Native Americans harvest with the same respect and reverence for the animal and to acknowledge the sacrifice which has been made to feed your family. Great video Brothers.
