Some times unexpected things turn out to be the best. I still am in disbelief about this whole situation. I hope you guys are going to enjoy watching the process of getting this car back on the road just as much as I am. Let me know you thoughts, ideas, comments, whatever down below! In the next video we’ll get to see what this thing looks like without 30 years of moss & dirt on it and see that orange paint shine!

There’s a 1959 Caddy and I think it’s a coupe on this road under a tarp that looks like it’s been there 30 years but only the rear fins are sticking out.. I wanna go ask if it’s for sale but the person also has other classics at the place so probably not for sale but I may pull up in my 67 Buick and win the car over

Congrats man! That's a awesome find, your story is alot like mine, I just bought a 69 charger, been sitting for 30+yrs, 318 2bbl car, my underside is solid, but roof is toast due to the vynil top, and was parked years ago due to a wreck on the right front which did bend the frame rail. I'm about to tear it down and get the frame pulled, my plan is to hit some cruise ins with the roof flapping just for laughs while I aquire the parts to fix all that, Goodluck on yours can't wait to see the progress!!

Theyll start getting affordable again in about 10 years. I'm only ten years older than you....and I remember back in the late 90's project mopars in even better shape than this were going for only a couple grand. The insane prices you're seeing for them now is a result of the boomer generation hitting retirement age and wanting to relive their youth! And they have a lot of money to spend right now which is jacking the prices up sky high. But once they start dying off in the next 10 years the prices will start to drop back to normal levels. And they'll be people out here trying to give these things away again!! Lol! The same thing happened with the 40s-50s car market lately. Where 20 years ago some of those were selling for insane prices but now they're really really cheap. The same thing will with the muscle car market too. So just hang tough and be patient, and save your money! The time will come! 😉👊💯

Okay a year ago a young kid found an older guy (so I assume from what he said) that had a Charger (his DREAM CAR!) rotting away in his driveway in the country! He goes in and talks to the guy. The guy sees a bit of himself in the young kid and decides to himself"Yep this is the kid that gets the Charger!" Says "$100 Bucks kid and it's yours but you gotta leave the stuff in the trunk." The kid is OVER THE MOON and capable as well as smart! He pays for the car with his hard earned cash as soon as he could go get it. He's so excited he's whispering as if the old guy might just hear him and figure out that the Charger is worth a LOT more (maybe $8000 or something like that at the higher end maybe) But it is numbers matching and NOT the 318 the old guy told him it is. At least that's what the kid has figured out from the vin tag on the engine. Can you tell me a better cooler more American dream video than THIS??!! I can't The kid with the Cleetus Shades is ON HIS WAY TO A SUCCESSFUL LIFE!!! Thank you dude!! I'm watching for the rest of the build!! Subbed!!

Hell even in ‘92 these were valuable. The values were stagnant until the Dukes of Hazzard came out. By the late 80s every 1968-70 Charger was increasing in value. Especially as word got out they’d totaled roughly 300 of them filming the show.

Hopefully you can restore it but it will be very expensive if you do it yourself or a professional shop . Body work alone will cost thousands of dollars all the rusted under body will need all new metal . The engine rebuild or swap will cost at least $5,000 or more. The most expensive is body work and paint and from the looks this charger is really badly rusted out. When I was young I did some body work on our 1968 Coronet R/T but it was a clean car to start with only minor rust holes on it. You are young you have the time to work on it and money it should look nice when done .

You should try and see if that engine turns over by hand. If it does, put some transmission fluid into each cylinder and let it sit overnight. Then try and start it the next day. Might not be anything wrong with it, except the previous owner didn't know what they were doing.
