Like your setup, like yourself I use a smaller 12V battery for my depth finder, I was searching EBay and found a 12V 7Ah sealed battery set up for a trail camera, in a water resistant case and also came with a solar panel, I charge it with a cheap smart charger, and it runs my depth finder all day all, the solar panel does help a bit, so far, I haven't killed it with my Helix H5 Hummingbird. Great clean set up, TIght Lines and Happy Fishing.

Dude I went through the exact same thing with that Pelican during the pandemic!! Canceled my order too and picked this boat up from Dicks here in Moore, Ok!! One of the first mods I did was went to Home Depot and pick up a sheet of 1/4 “ OSB and made a sub floor for it. Also bought some gray marine grade carpet to wrap the flooring in. Looks great and works awesome! I dig the transducer mod man! Where did you find that at? Tight lines man!

I had this boat for a couple years and loved it. My brother had gotten the bass raider 10E so we compared the two side by side and in the water. Both are excellent on the water but the field and stream does has less floor room due to the front design, but wasn't a big issue because it worked out great for stepping in the boat. Also the rated weight capacity was a little more on the bass raider. My only main issue with the field and stream was I had gotten mine at a discount store and didn't come with any paperwork to get it registered for a motor, so I sold it at the beginning of last year and got really luck to find a bass raider 10E on facebook marketplace for $600 a couple days later. The guy had bought it new with a $300 trolling motor, upgraded to the big cushion seats, had it titled and tagged til 2022. He said he only used it once then wanted a kayak. Anyways, enjoy that boat because I definitely had great times reeling in some nice ones in mine.

I have a Pelican and one thing I found was that if I throw one of those floating fish cages in the water if it slows you boat down from getting blown all over the place.

I have the 8ft version. I use a 55lbs thrust Newport Vessel electric motor when fishing. And I use my 2HP Evinrude gas motor, when I just want to stroll on the water. I love Sundolphin products. Even their kayaks are good.

Hey buddy, have you tried running your trolling motor on the front of your boat, we found that it pulls your boat better than it does pushing it, it’s easier to control your boat that way

Good morning. I just purchased one of these little jon boats. And I've just been informed by my HOA that I am not allowed to use a trolling motor in my late and my lakes and my development. Can you please recommend the correct type of horse that would work for me on this boat especially given the fact that there are seats so I would be sitting higher. I do not want to get rid of this boat I want to use it and I'm willing to use oars. So any advice give me I would certainly appreciate it. Thank you so much

I use the duralast marine & rv deep cycle from auto zone. Part number 29dp-dl. It’s a great battery
