Worthy doesn't run routes anywhere close to Devonta Smith. That's the major difference. It blows my mind how caught up in the 40 people get every single year. Go to the tape, Worthy didn't separate as often as people try to make it seem.

When the sample size seems smaller with McCarthy you have to look at what he did well and he had an historically high conversion rate on third and long. How did he do when he had to bail out the team, he excelled. McCarthy also has a magnetic personality that draws in players and they believe in him, at the Combine the other QBs crowded around and were drawn to him because of his personality, he exudes leadership.

@JJ-zr6fu oh you found his ONLY loss in his entire college career? When he was 19 years old? He still led his team to the playoffs while putting up 400 yards of offense and 3 TDs. 2 costly pick 6s that decided the game, but I think he made up for it by winning his team their first Natty in almost 30 years 1 season later.

@ESPNNFL Field Yates, Jaylen Wright has the most YAC of all power five guys! I'm with you for what my rb does in the hole and how he evades defenders...but I factor in the strength of schedule and offensive line rankings more importantly. Check the linemans eoy PFF grade. I'd prefer to run behind fsu's line over UT's. Jaylen would have run circles endzone to endzone in the ACC. That's the difference.

If your rating system isn't to predict draft order or value to a team what is it for? Whats the point of a C being rated at 20 if the QB rated at 30 makes a bigger difference to the team in terms of winning? Is this about fantasy value? A team obviously has a list based on need and fit but what are you actually rating?

There is only one play you need to watch if you think JJ's "intangibles" are not a big deal or that he is not fast. Watch the play where he hands off to Corum at his own 35 yard line. 99.99% of QBs would be completely out of the play after the handoff. Not JJ. He sprints down the right sideline, outrunning the entire defense and his RB then blocks two guys at the other team's 35, enabling a TD. I never saw a QB block for a RB that is sprinting at full speed 30 yards downfield. Ever. This specific play is important because it shows how unselfish JJ is. Teammate universally rave about JJ because he does stuff like this. That is the kind of stuff that motivates other players to give an extra 5% to win. Not pad stats... WIN.

Certainly not laughable. If he had 31" arms to go with those hands and was 6'2" he'd go in the 5th round or later. All the measurements "matter", in proper context. Luckily for Olu he is 6'6" with like 34" arms, i.e. the hand size is less detrimental than it would be on a smaller guy. And he's good. Range is probably like 15-25 ish.

@@florida1289 who is going to throw to him? This is one of the deepest WR drafts in the last 10 years and the top 3 QB’a are better than what you normally get in a draft, don't want to waste that opportunity. Get a QB and then get a WR in the second round, and a tackle in the 3rd. Pick up another WR and tackle in free agency. You can go from terrible to good really fast with a good QB, just ask the Texans. There are good WRs every year in both the draft and free agency, but that's not always the case with QBs.

I went to the Lions Patriots game in 2022. The Pats won that game 27-0. I saw Pats fans mock Lions fans after that game. WOW have things changed since that game. JJ is a winner. Fully expect whatever team he goes to... to start winning. May be a blessing in disguise if he slips a little so he goes to a team that is better than the Patriots.

@@farriskhan2352 I live in Michigan and have been a Michigan fan my entire life. I like JJ, but he's so raw and so much unknown. I think he has the potential to be great if he held a clipboard for a year or two, those kinds of guys can't be drafted in the top 5. If he was there in the second round I would be all for it. I could see him being a great pickup for the Rams. Learn under Stafford for a couple of years. Maye is taller, heavier, just as big of an arm, very athletic, way more experienced at nearly the same age, and has more upside. He could also bust, but I think it's way less likely, and has the potential to be a top 5 QB in the league.

Constructive criticism: I hate the close-up shots of these dudes just talking. Maybe this is good for scouts but as a casual it is boring. Bring in some video footage/images of the sport and players from games instead of just close-ups of these guys just talking.

Why is it so many ESPN youtube videos have bad video/audio? Is it to seem like they are a small company? You are owned by f*cking Disney, and have worse quality than content creators who are just starting out, completely independent, and a $500 setup. Its like Liz Loza on FF now, and this side content. This is Mel Kiper, and Field Yates, and this is the best you can produce?

Comparing Bo Nix to Kenny Pickett is ridiculous. Pickett is terrible and wasn’t even close to as good as Nix in college. Nix is way closer to a Kirk Cousins than a Kenny Pickett. Nix will be a way better pro QB than JJ McCarthy. Guaranteed. Penix will be better than JJ too.
