I love the videos, I just went over my steps for the next years oil change. The 26KW has 16 hours on it. I do not believe I need to change the spark plugs and just the valves with only 16 hours. I believe Generac wants you to do this every year? Sounds like a service money maker to me?

A lot times the documentation is more of a reminder to inspect as opposed to replace.

Both my neighbors have these. It's surprising how loud they are considering that they're enclosed. Super annoying when we have a short power interruption in the middle of the night. I would never notice except that it suddenly sounds like both neighbors are mowing their lawns in the middle of the night! When I was a kid we used candles and flashlights. Amazing how helpless people are now.

I having to buy one since Xcel will be cutting off our power during high winds. Last spring the winds lasted 10 hours, but power was not restored until 4 days later after Xcel hand inspected all the power lines to our underground powered neighborhood.

@@FieldGuidetoDIY It took 4 days to inspect the lines after the winds died down. I wouldn't want to be in a bucket either at 60 + mph.

Didn't have to do a valve adjustment? Saw in another video of someone doing it and showing how. My first year of owning a 22kw has passed and it's time for maintenance and been weighing my options of getting it done by a company or getting my brother to do it. I'm leaning towards a service company just because of the valve adjustment.

I hear ya. I didn’t get into the valve adjustment as that might have affected the warranty.

Why were new plugs and new air filter installed when the old plugs and filter looked brand new ?
@FieldGuidetoDIY2 ай бұрын
@@curemeister7443 great question. The manufacturer suggests it as part of required maintenance and not merely inspection. I would say, if you’re no longer under warranty, inspect and change at your discretion.

Wow, what kind a fool are you? Adjusting valves by the average joe? Just how stupid could you be and that should certainly void the warranty. That's a 2 cylinder and very few homeowners could do a single cylinder correctly. At 70 I've worked on a bunch of engines here on the farm and know it's very easy to do it wrong. Don't believe me? Watch the many Y.T. vids of people screwing up a simple oil change on their mowers, cars, gens, tractors and more. I've seen many engines ruined from idiots thinking they know what is best, check the comments. I've watched many generators ruined on Y.T. cause they thought they should adjust the valves at 50 hrs. My John Deere 155C, 25 hp, Briggs mower I bought new on 6-06-2006 now has 856 hrs., runs like new and has never had the valves adjusted. 912 hrs. on my 2014 J.D. Gator and done nothing but change the oil & filters. Both rigs and ALL my chain saws/trimmers have original spark plugs. You must be some kind of stupid to have made that comment. Probably time for Mom to serve dinner to ya. SMH.

The oil container is designed so that you pour the new oil with the elongated side horizontal to the floor, and in that way you get a constant flow instead of a "glup-glup-glup". Awesome video otherwise. Thanks
