Fields of Mistria vs Stardew Valley 👀

Fields of mistria is amazing so far, its in early access but the devs are regularly posting updates on the development and have a roadmap for updates laid out, romance/marriage/children, the main story and the mines arent complete yet but what they have available is very polished and charming and still gives many hours of enjoyment, all for a price point under 20 dollars 👌

Honestly, it's so incredibly fun and hits every nail on the head when it comes to the inspiration it's pulled from older RPGs! I for one will be playing early access to completion and am super looking forward to what they've talked about in the roadmap!

​@@trashmarble Oh, dragons are prime targets for furries, there's even a subtype of furries called "scalies" dedicated to thirsting over dragons and lizards. To put it simply, you're going to need a much bigger bottle when this game starts to get played by bigger KZbinrs and gets more popular.

personally falling in love with fields of mistria more than stardew valley. the town feels friendlier and livelier and the gameplay feels less grindy (might be a turnoff for some)

The moment i saw the shovelled ground tile sprite, i immediately thought Zelda. And the hard outlines, reminiscent of Advance Wars and Forager. Whoever made this game grew up with love, and is now giving love back.

I've been playing it. It's really fun. Love the 90's JRPG aesthetic, Combat imo is an improvement on SV, Town residents have lots of fun things to say and do. And lots of other good stuff Also hot people

It’s solid. I do, however, think it might be worth it to wait until closer to full release depending on the player’s play-style. I hit one of the content limits, and while I do find it more relaxing now in some ways, I do worry that I’ll have trouble getting back into it for full release. Especially with the story becoming so spread as a result. But I’m someone who always has trouble going back to a game I used to play and keeping up the same momentum that I initially had. But the game itself is amazing. I don’t regret buying it, just question if my timing could’ve been better.

Kinda sick of calling every new farming sim a stardew clone or somrthing along the line. All farming sims have the farming in comon, hence the genre. Stardew wasnt the first farm sim either, but it gained a huge following for a reason.

Mistria has me in such a strong choke hold over the past 2 weeks I'm done with spring year 2 now still need to figure out a proper cash flow, bundle trouble and I yearn fo da mines!

The pixel art is an entirely different style, it looks nothing like Stardew 😅 it looks a lot more like older TLOZ games and plays similar to Stardew in the same way Stardew plays similar to Harvest Moon - it's not a clone at all.

They're not "clones" - a lot of the amazing games we have nowadays are heavily inspired on original ideas that got the ball rolling, but reducing them to clones is unfair to the amount of work that has gone into making these experiences, imo.
