I remember seeing these guys live at Glasgow - Barrowlands 1990( I was 19), it was the Elyzium tour, I was standing on the periphery of the crowd along with some friends......it was during this I found myself moved to tears, and looked across to said friends.....to find they were crying also ?" "Through Sumerlands.....lead me" Moments like this....are precious !

saw them in Mannheim that year. only a few feet away from the stage, center. a wall of massive fog & even more bass. as wail of sumer started i leaned over to my freind & screamed "oh here comes the ballad..." and he laughed his ass off :-)

4 years ago from the lead post .. how time flies :) .. watched them at Brixton Academy before Elyzium came out (maybe 1989/90 .. not sure).. traveled up with some friends from Brighton and when they played Last Exit for the Lost, I was hooked............ and then Elyzium came out... In hindsight, I'm not sure what I've played more, this two track combination or The Chameleons Second Skin/Intrigue in Tangiers.. different styles but achingly beautiful music..

oh the memories...elyzium was the best F.O.T.N album, goth and darkwave meets Pink Floyd and art-rock to create something bigger, transcedental and cosmic. Amazing.

even someone dosent like fields, he can not say that this is just a song... or a good song.we re talkin here about a masterpiece ok.a lot of groups created great albums or songs (like sisters, nosferatu, disjecta membra, house of usher, voices of masada, garden of delight, merry thoughts, and others) and fewer hymns (like joy division, bauhaus e.t.c) but fields of the nephilim led this kind of music to other level without exaggeration no stamps no dark no goth no rock no pop no metal just music

Timeless lush and beautiful. Always heavy in my song rotation...pure atmosphere. A brilliant DJ, Coyote J (Jim Battan), had a fantastic show...The Edge. Darkwave, cold and perfect. The 80's he introduced me to the most satisfying music...check out his playlist on Spotify.

My favorite band, for good reason, listen to this amazing well-crafted, almost orchestrated Jazzy Goth Rock of theirs in each ballad type song or slower song they put out, its got the same powerful atmosphere yet has this distinct resonating musicianship that lasts with you for a lifetime. No wonder Carl McCoy, Peter Yates, all the members of FOTN, have went ahead to form their own individual interpretations over this Nephilim concept of dreamlike music they make and sound just as good, like Tony Petitt's NFD for example. A underated 80s classic.

What amazing song it is. A symphony of sorts that walks through the yearly cycle of seasons. Or cycle of life. Could be any cycle for that matter, one which starts and terminates to begin once again.

Something was happening in the last years of the 20th century and early 21st....FotN...last of the Braves. Lisa Gerrard tried to keep the message but was swamped by directionless corporate pipped media. Lisa and Carl would of made 'The Mist' seem like a prelimanary draft score. . . .

Cant be many examples of Dub / Goth ( this , Reach out Eden house) but it works for me. Great at weaving layers of sound the neph, and catching each layer as it shifts between the two tracks is a little piece of magic... I'd have this at my funeral but dont think that many people would get it.
