Fair enough , but remember that there are a fair number of Shooters out there that have had to give up their Firearms and Shotgun Certificates for one reason or another, so the only thing they can fall back on is something that most of them started their shooting careers with, and that is Airguns. So seeing Airguns being featured on Field Sports Britain is a good thing. Many of the older generation of shooters who were brought up with Springers are finding it very interesting in learning about modern technology such as PCPs which extends their shooting lives that little bit longer. Thanks Terry.

Poacher block is good in theory but need metal posts coming out the bottom so can be concreted inn as they will drive round them or drag them out the way also need ditches round the fields bordering roads as they will find a way through the hedge a bit of hawthorn hedging wont stop them they don't care about there vehicles as most of them are cheap and disposable no insurance driven on cloned or stolen number plates

Keep them away from all birds, everything they do is useless and expensive, a waste of good money☹️

RSPB, RSPCA, or even the Cat Protection. Regardless of what a charity may claim to protect i always research how much thei executive board get paid and what percentage of the carity income is actually spent on their cause.

I was at the Abernethy reserve in the mid nineties so some volunteer work and there was someone there for a few weeks doing a capercaillie survey. They never saw any. RSPB are useless.

One thing to mention about dormice is that they are champion hibernators; their German name even translates as "Seven sleeper" as they hibernate seven months of the year, and presumably spend the minority of the time that they are awake stuffing their faces, breeding and running round like loons. What this does mean is that if you have a problem with rodents in your loft, wait until the dormice are safely in the land of nod in winter then have at it with the squirrel traps and you'll get nothing but squirrels (which like a bit of warmth and tend to get into houses in winter). The other trick for making a loft space less welcoming for squirrels is apparently to put a strobe light up in there; a continual flash... flash... flash tends to upset them, apparently. Just make sure you tell the neighbours what the score is.

I’ll give the English credit. They’ve over engineered the hell outta squirrel hunting.

Commercial shooting of wild wildfowl makes a mockery of all the hurdles that real Wildfowlers have to jump over in order to continue their sport.
