Tough stalking in superb mountain scenery - Paul Childerley is shooting chamois during their rut. He is out with Peter Matjasic from WaffenlandTV, who wants to show him why Slovenia is a hunting paradise. Meanwhile, Catty Shack man Wayne Martin offers his tips on shooting straight with a catapult. David is on the Fieldsports Channel news stump and Charlie brings you the best hunting on KZbin makes it in to this week's Hunting KZbin. It's all in this week's #FieldsportsBritain

beautiful film, thanks Charlie & crew; I REALLY love the chamoix hunt as even if it's not "UK" based, it's part of a bigger scene that's available to us, and quite frankly, it's staggeringly beautiful to be above the cloud line in the snow.

Waidmannsheil Paul!! From a transplanted American in South Africa. Great chamois, I was lucky to get one several years ago, only mine was in summer coat. The winter coat is magnificent.

Really enjoyed today's episode as I sit in the lounge in Lisbon heading for West Africa. The hunting in Slovenia looks quite incredible and the filming of the rut though the low cloud, I thought, worked really well. Perhaps Peter would like to put up a hunting trip to Slovenia as a FSB prize - all you have to say is WaffenlandTV is the best! As for the hitting a 9mm target from 15m with a catapult shot, quite incredible. I'd be lucky to hit the proverbial barn door. Keep up the good work, I'm really enjoying the variety in the trips that the team are taking both at home and overseas.

In regards to shooting up hill and/or down hill, for most hunting distances the bullet only cares about gravitation and wind. The steeper the angle, the shorter the horizontal distance become. Paul’s Zeiss RF binos will give you physical distance and angle or horizontal distance for correct adjustment on the scope.

Great episode. I like the look of the shooterking Venator backpack Paul is wearing. What capacity was it - 25 or 40? And can it fit a 26" barrel gun?
@fieldsportstv
@fieldsportstv 5 жыл бұрын
I got this back from Paul: Morning, the one in the film is 40 L. Shooterking do 25 and a 40 both would cope with that length of barrel because it’s a drop in the bottom of the rucksack makes it sit lower. Speaking with guys out there central rifle pouches are a lot better because when it’s on the side of the rucksack it pulls you across terribly! / Charlie

Gawd - loads. KZbin likes variety. We all have own set-ups. A mix of DSLR, GoPros, Shotkams, drone and a camcorder works well. Tripod and audio are the most important things. / Charlie

What is the reasoning in putting the greeery in the chamois’s mouth? Never seen that before!
@fieldsportstv
@fieldsportstv 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Daniel, it's a sign of respect and is done in lots of the European countries. It's often referred to as the "last bite." The hunter also gets a sprig of greenery to put in his or her hat. D

@@Agri-WMH I think in some European countries, apart from the last meal sprig in the mouth, some countries also put a sprig over the entry wound of the animal, too, plus the one the hunter wears. Again, as a mark of respect.

Here's a question, has anyone tried to cross multiple European frontiers carrying firearms and what would it take to organise? For example, a trip could take in boar in La Loire with JP Bourgneuf, stalking in the Dolomites and over into Slovenia with Waffenland. Then home. Obviously, all before the 29th March, 2019 as the world will end on that day or not, depending on your point of view.
