Yea, by leaving it in a lower gear, not trying to go from a higher gear to a lower gear. People need to understand when, you have a car or truck without brakes, you do one of several things. Turn the ignition off, then there's slamming into a gear destroying the transmission, and engine, last, is the one thing nobody want's to do is end their life, before I would kill others, I'd take my own life knowing I'd save others. Both my girls were taught the same thing with cars taking off. You'll destroy the vehicles engine and transmission, but if it saves just one more person, it'd be worth dying. I'm in the business of saving people, kep them living until we get them to a higher level of care. I'd love to see the point where his brakes went out to the horrific crash. Many over passes to hit, if he really decided to save people. He could of even used a radio and got a Semi further ahead loadedand used that to slow it down and get it stopped. I don't know if he used the Jake brake or if he could use the emergency brake, but I'd have tried everything before killing people. I'd love to know what others think? Is it possible to do some of these things? Like shutting off the engine? Slamming into a gear and destroying everything?

None of the above, just an inexperienced drivers who's truck got away from him. Either took the downgrade too fast, or tried to down shift... missed and couldn't get it back in gear. His breaks then over heated and from there it was all over but the screaming, I imagin there was a lot of screaming.

No mention of the homeless guy who rushed in and saved 4 lives? His name is Darin Barton, who was panhandling nearby and rushed in to pull people from the scene. A GoFundMe has been started for him by a witness on the scene, please donate here: www.gofundme.com/homeless-hero-saves-lives-in-i70-fire

You're in an automatic you cannot always down shift in those damn things and with the emergency breaking system I'm surprised there's not more crashes You all decided to put a safety feature on Yeah if you come back on people who Make those tracks
@deathangel70273 жыл бұрын
You can downshifting automatic truck you might destroy your transmission if you do it wrong but you can downshift it. Better to destroy the transmission than to destroy people's lives. You also have a guardrail to drive yourself into. If you're going to crash you pick what you crash into especially when you have over a half a mile to make that decision.

The Semi was a white color with a regular box type trailer! A homeless man pulled 4 people out of their car's...
Josh McCutchen (the guy you mention above) should also be charged with reckless endangerment and careless driving for illegal cell phone use for LIVE STREAMING for nearly 3 HOURS while driving!
