Hola Alberto. Another interesting video. I can't find El Arenal on most of my maps, but I have an old map of the state of Hidalgo that shows it. 50 years ago it was reached from a gravel road that branched off another gravel road between ixmiquilpan and Capula. Watching penitents crawl on their knees makes my knees hurt. I still remember watching the penitents crawling on their knees toward the Basilica de Guadalupe in CDMX. Some people had bare knees, a few were flogging themselves. I suspect that Jesus will still love the faithful even if they don't go to such extremes. Usually I don't like the neoclassic church interiors that have replaced the old gilded retablos, but the main altar in La Iglesia del Senor de las Maravillas is fairly attractive. The little chapel (outside?) reminds me of a church near Guanajuato. Perhaps you know the one I mean. Above the city of Guanajuato, maybe 3-4 kms on the road to Dolores Hidalgo, is the magnificent church of San Cayetano/La Valenciana. La Valenciana is one of the best churches of the churrigueresque period. Dating from about 1760, it is much better than anything in Guanajuato itself, and if you don't know it you should visit it. But that isn't the church I'm referencing. A bit east of La Valenciana, on the Plaza del Quijote, in Cata, one finds El Santuario, the home of El Senor de Villaseca. The church is a variation on La Valenciana. The facade was never finished, the bell tower and gable being later additions, but the church and plaza are well worth a visit. Inside part of the walls are covered with hundreds of exvotos, pieces of tin painted with a depiction of some miracle that a person was grateful for. By the way, do they still make and sell charramuscas (mummy shaped candy with raisin eyes) in Guanajuato? The market looked very interesting. Lots of tasty looking food. I never tried escamoles or chapulines, but they looked good too. I noticed more traditional crafts than many markets, so that interests me. One group of women wore a huipil, but I couldn't tell how many had embroidered yokes around the neck. Much of the huipils appeared to have plain bands of colored fabric sewn onto them. When it comes to traditional skills I suppose fewer women (especially younger women who work outside of the home) have the time, the interest or the skills to do embroidery or brocading. I'm behind commenting on your recent videos. Hopefully I will catch up. Hello to Adriana. Stay well.

Good morning William, I apologize for taking a long time to respond but I was practically documenting other destinations; The sandy area is practically between Pachuca and Actopan, it is the obligatory route without detouring. As you mention, there are still people who enter Incadas and preserve their customs of riding a bicycle from afar, I have never agreed with that because that is not faith, the things that Christ asks of us are not that but hey, it is respectable. I don't know the church you mention in Guanajuato, I'm going to locate it to spend a day there. In Guanajuato they still sell charamuscas and candy mummies as before, it is a tradition that pays good dividends to the merchants, I hope you had a good Easter, receive greetings from the family.
