Fiesta ST 3" straight pipe with vibrant ultra quiet resonator

Though I would share ... This started as a 3" Mbrp exhaust , then added a 3" thermal r&d muffler to the rear the annoying drone went away ... Then eventually got bored and did a muffler delete so just straight pipe only .... It was fun while it lasted but wayyyy to loud for abvious reason ... So went ahead and bought this 3" vibrant ultra quiet resonator which the quality is amazing and hear these results ... I'm defiantly happy with the outcome ... The cars sound really changed for the best ...

Makes sense if you're catted. I have stock dp and can't stand the drone on the stock mbrp catback. Worried if I change out the MBRP res for the vibrant that it will be too quiet though.

I just did this same setup on my '15 FiST. 3" ATP catless DP and the MBRP exhaust. The drone I get is killing me at 2700 ^. You say the drone went away with a Thermal R&D muffler? and now you have a 3" vibrant ultra quiet res... So are you still using the R&D muffler and added the Res or only the res? also what location did you put the res ( assuming you replaced the MBRP up at the front coming off the DP ? Curious as i'm looking for solutions which you seem to have found....

@@javiernaranjo5187 EVERYONE gets drone with MBRP. They're the most notorious drone magnet out of any catback for any ST or RS platform.

@@orangejjay Yes but fortunately I was able to solve mine with a 1/4 wave resonator. Doesn't drone a thing. Perhaps except when it is really cold (less than 10°C is on the cold side for Mexico City).

how much of a difference did the vibrant res make a difference? I've used one before in my previous car and made it sound better, currently on my FiST I have muffler and res delete it was fun for few days getting to loud for daily driving. I plan on having custom 2.5 exhaust done with one or maybe two of these put in.

I know the mbrp is 2.5" at the dp connection. Did you have to weld a taper after the dp connection cause i think the Vibrant is 3" on both ends.

I just cut a section of 3” out and put the ultra quiet there.

“Ultra quiet” is because compared to a typical bottle style resonator this thing really does bring the tone down to a much deeper level. Vibrant builds the best mufflers/resonators for the money in my opinion I swear by there products

Did you experience drone with muff delete AND vibrant resonator combo? I'm hating the drone i get at ~3k RPM. Is all you're running in this MBRP muffler and Vibrant res?

@@javiernaranjo5187 So, first I had muffler delete with Vibrant resonator, and it droned terribly IMO. To fix this, I bought a Magnaflow muffler and it still droned terribly. I went back to just res delete and stock muffler. If I do anything else in the future I will either go full catback, or put my stock resonator back on and go with an aftermarket muffler like the magnaflow. Or nameless, guy at my shop says they don't drone. However, I'm happy I can floor my car again without drone.

@@Virtace3 go two UQ resonators. Ibbnhear that solves most of the drone issues but chamges the tone of the exhaust...makes it deeper but tighter.

Adding the vibrant res defiantly helps with the drone of the Mbrp ... would highly recommend it
