For people who says it sounds the same: Resonators get rid of drone. IT's that sound that makes you want to push a nail into your ear, from the headache it gives you. Resonators mostly work at LOW RPM, so you don't get that loud drone in idle, that pisses off your neighbors, or on first startup. The muffler is what does all the quieting.

I always recommend this resonator to everyone. You keep all the loud but a super clean exhaust note. My in cabin noise was greatly reduced, no more drone with catless. I paired this with a valved muffler and the car just purrss

Sounds good the vibrant made a difference. I just put on the 1792 vibrant resonator I had straight pipes and I couldn't handle the drone noise anymore so I went with the 1792 still a bit loud but no heavy drone noise like before.great vid

Thank you for sharing it! Sound after and before is amazing (both). What about the drone inside the cabin? I'm fighting with it (no resonator and no muffler) and I'm thinking in the Vibrant UQ Res. Thank you again!

These ppl saying it sounds the same..nope definitely not I have a straight piped Ef hatch and I put this in where the muffler would normally go and now its way quieter a little too quiet for me.

right at the tip of the catback. fitment was just barely.

Mike It did kill some of the rasp/resonance. But 4 bangers especially have some nasty rasp and it can be hard to clean it up completely. Part of the reason it still there is, according to one of the other comments he remove the catalytic converter which, belie it or not, is pretty good and absorbing a fair amount of raspyness in an exhaust system.

177SCmaro Actually, removing the catalytic converters are what actually make it the most raspy. If you're running non-resonated test pipes, the exhaust tone becomes real raspy. Resonated test pipes do the job well, or DIY gutted cats will do fine but might kill performance because of such a hollow shape chane.

isnowyazn That's what I said, only the other way around. Again, catalytic concervers do a pretty good job of eliminating that raspyness from exhaust, which is the same as saying removing the cat makes it more raspy. We are saying the same thing, dude. I'd add also that it varies by engine. Even firing engines (like most 4 cylinders for example) tend to be the raspyest while uneven fire engines (like most "American" V8's) tend to burble and roar and so don't need things like cats or resonators to sound good. Typical mufflers will do.
