A quick comparison of a resonator delete and stock exhaust on a Fiesta ST180. The only modification at the time of recording was the resonator delete.

Interesting it kind of changes the tone a bit it seems for the rev testing. A muffler delete is a lot louder but does drone at highway speeds and is really bad if you still got the sound symposer with it.

No major difference in the cabin to be honest, Still sounds stock, Sitting at 80 and accerlating there is a little and I mean little boominess but nothing off putting in the slightly for long journeys. Slower speeds there nothing at all.

@@bcmotoring4626 I came here to ask this too. I am considering replacing the middle muffler with a small hot dog style resonator for a little extra noise with minimal drone.

I think I want to do this to my ST. Do you think it will affect the warranty if I want to make a claim, hopefully nothing goes wrong but you never know. Did you delete it yourself or pay someone?

You should definitely do it, it completely changes the sound. it is also a reversible mod you can easy put the resonator back onto the car and we done it ourselves.

Mods shouldn't affect warranty unless they caused the issue, but often they'll try to deny you warranty work and blame mods. IN USA I believe they'd need to prove it. If a shock fails they can't deny you warranty because you removed the resonator or something :)

They cut off the res and add a effectively straight pipe the resonator area

@@sensoubandit7376 I have a smaller muffler, which isn't ludicrously loud, but louder than the resonator and it sounds a hell of a lot more aggressive, with zero drone.

I chose a Non res cat back 3” for my ST All that did was make a Hell of a racket under full acceleration and lose Low end grunt. Some say it shouldn’t have but I could feel it. And my Cousin’s Astra 136 diesel was able to hold its on when prior running stock Id piss his Astra .

Cameron Toman , Hi, I didn’t get it Custom Mapped No. I relied on Superchip Bluefin, all that did was give me back what I Lost I Feel. I have a 17plate facelifts version now , Over the Tangerine 63 pate , The only modification is again a Bluefin remap , I can feel this has a lot more torque in the lower rpm , too much in fact so it’s complete opposite of pre facelift . I’m happy with it at higher speeds it pulls like a train in any gear . But using 1st is hopeless 😏 still I upset some Two’sir in a 66plate 430i when I dusted him 👍 He wanted it he got it .

@@mark-1rc502 what bhp ypu running off the bluefin? Is it a version of a tuning box? And not a stage one?.... if is a tuning box maybe the reason for wheel spin as tuning boxs do up the power and torque but the power curve isnt linear, hence the wheel spin a good stage one eith boost by gear is your best bet. Youll shock alot cars. Also tyres are a big thing . A set of pilot 4 on a set of bola b1s. Carnt go wrong . Enjoy either way . Great little cars

Karl Ritchie 🤠 I’d only use good tyres it important, I have pilot sport 4 on each corner . As for bluefin you read the original map with a Device they sell you. Upload to superchips , they’ll in turn reprogram the handheld device Via your pc , you then go to your car and Flash your OBD once it’s done you unplug it. It does not stay in the car . It’s not to bad on a warm day I might get some traction, I might get wheel hop in Second from a rolling start but, those crisp fresh mornings or damp or, hopeless. Obviously FWD in the Wet with a bucket load of torque from low rpm just concede at the traffic lights gracefully it’s too embarrassing to get done by a crap car while your spinning up the wheels.
