@arsmusica23 Жыл бұрын
@@NoahGaebel , if you have a smart phone there’s a e-85 app created by enthusiasts. It really works well. I traveled from Pa to Tenn and Atl on a road trips with it and it has been so accurate. Plus the best part of these tunes is that it is a flash so you can switch on the fly.
@NoahGaebel Жыл бұрын
Just added the app, looks like there is one pump about 14 miles from my house. But thanks for the suggestion. Hopefully some more get built up so I can run some E!
@arsmusica23 Жыл бұрын
@@NoahGaebel , you can make the trip if you don’t drive a lot and get jugs. There are KZbin guys with Fiesta that do it. Wow, 14 miles is far. Try it out if you get a chance. It is just takes this car to a whole another level as far as driving experience. I don’t know if the car really gets faster but the butt dyno will make you grin from ear to ear
@NoahGaebel Жыл бұрын
Definitely could fill up some jugs and use them for special occasions and what not. It should add some pep to it but running ethanol is safer for the engine I believe. Runs cooler and less knock.

How much quicker does this thing feel than the protege did ?
@NoahGaebel Жыл бұрын
Literally speed wise it’s not a crazy amount better but it feels like this car has like twice the torque. Overall it feels more responsive and tight than the protege ever did. Definitely a proper modern upgrade in my opinion.

@@NoahGaebel sweet! I just got an AP installed and put a Cobb CBE on order at Surgeline. Not looking to do too much power wise. Might add a bov spacer and a real CAI (the ones that mount behind the headlight).. car came with a rmm but that's it. Might do a dyno tune with them as well to get things really dialed in.. might add an IC at that point too.. not going for all our power, but responsiveness, consistency, and reliability

@@NoahGaebel you notice much difference between the Cobb OTS tune n the Dizzy stg1 tune? im currently on the cobb ots stg1 91 tune (just playing it safe and leaving the 1 octane gap). Thanks!
@NoahGaebel25 күн бұрын
@dre32pitt i think the difference was notable, it was comparable to adding the ots for the first time. I don’t believe the car is much faster but the tune itself makes it feel a bit more fun and exciting.

@@NoahGaebel interesting.. I can 'save' that move for later when I feel like i need 'a bit more' for the car lol.. The car is very enjoyable compared to stock with this Cobb Stg1 OTS tune.. at least for now, im thinking of sticking with this tune for awhile until i get bored, then check out the dizzy stg1.. then, depending on other life factors, next time i get bored, ill go uprated I/C, catted dp, and dyno tune at Surgeline. cool vid! Im running the OTS 93octane COBB stage 1 with their drop-in air filter and RMM. I was thinking of going to the stage 2 with the air induction kit and intercooler upgrade, but it's another $1000. My logic with going COBB is that it's my 1st car that I've ever tuned and my daily driver so I wanted something conservative and safe, knowing I wouldn't be pushing the engine too much. Are you worried that the tune you're running will be safe long-term for the engine? Because I've always been interested in this Dizzy tune and have been sort of considering it.
@NoahGaebel Жыл бұрын
I’ve definitely thought about it, my brother bought a focus ST with an unknown tune and it blew the motor so I am very cautious. With basically any car, adding more power means more stress or speed and that will deteriorate things quicker or give more chances for things to break. It’s how you maintain it and do preventative things. To help slow or try your best to prevent something catastrophic. Unfortunately it’s very addictive to add more power, it’s something you have to find what you’re happy with.
@nikoniko893 Жыл бұрын
I'm in the same boat, very happy with the Cobb tune (free is good). Others have said it's a conservative tune which is a good thing as it's safer and also minimizes torque steer which I saw in the video. I know there is a lower cost intercooler than the Whoosh, so that may be an upgrade I do over the summer if the money is there.
@Darylrb1983 Жыл бұрын
Ill add, I would recommend at least getting an intercooler, all of the other stuff you can forego. All you really need is a drop in filter, which you have, an intercooler since the stock one heatsoaks quickly. Personally I'd look into a custom tune from any of the reputable tuners like dizzy, JST, Tune+, Stratified. What i will say is that a fully custom tune is recommended by a lot of tuners BUT, stratified and dizzy have their own version of a flash tune without datalogging (Stratified its an option). My Fiesta st had 5 different tuners on it, on stock turbo and bigger turbo setups. I put 155k miles on it in 5 years and it never failed. My wife's car has both the stratified and dizzy flash tunes and the car is fine.
@NoahGaebel Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the information, I really should get an intercooler. Unfortunately it’s very easy to look past due to its lack of excitement. I just bought an exhaust instead of it. But the more I dive into this platform and trying to understand the service level of turning. How the basics of air, fuel, ignition, timing. Literally define how reliable the car is. One of them is off and it could literally blow your engine😂
@purpleflurp6601 Жыл бұрын
@@Darylrb1983 thanks! Thats some good insight with 155k miles under your belt. I was lucky enough to get my ST stock at 15k miles, so i intend on enjoying it for as long as i possibly can since i doubt ill have a car like this again. I agree that the Intercooler seems like the wisest choice!
@adamrozman Жыл бұрын
I found that I really didn't get that much more enjoyment out of the tune. I have been back on stock tune running 87oct around town probably the last year. I'll sometimes get 93 and throw on my strat tune, but it mostly just feels punchier down low. If it made the top end feel better maybe I'd actually run it more often. I guess that just means I enjoy the other parts of the car more than the torque 🤷♂️
@NoahGaebel Жыл бұрын
It’s very cool to change the behavior of the car with a few clicks of button. But it wears off pretty quickly, then you want more power. Kinda feels like cheating. I’m very satisfied with the current power. Feels good without it going overboard and I feel it’s decently reliable, but long term something more conservative is going to be better long term. These aren’t power cars, they are momentum cars. The car needs to be balanced with handling and power going hand in hand!

This is how I am. Up top, the fiesta just doesn’t have much of anything left. I was surprised but not at the same time with it being a tiny turbo. My 2010 Cobalt SS/TC I had years ago with a tune and catless dp pulled so hard all the way to redline. The Fiesta just falls on its face at anything beyond 60ish.
