This is exactly why I didn’t buy the game. It’s funny it comes today because I saw the copa libertadores dlc was coming and I checked some prices but this reminded me why I didn’t buy it. Scripting means the game isn’t run by the actual attributes players have, its run by the scripts and decides when and where you can score and the other team can score. This is not simulation, it’s a linear, one route path that you decide before the game by choosing the difficulty. Then you’re almost just along for the ride

I've dealt with this by just stopping playing the game. There's always something wrong with career mode. The -1 glitch last season, champions League and Europa League fixtures not being scheduled at the start of this season's, now this. Just fed up of EA's incompetence every year of not being able to resolve what should be simple things

Listen to this, I’ve been playing legendary since I got the game on career mode. I found it very challenging and thought what the hell could ultimate be! I lost about 10 games in a saving error (guest account) so the next time I dropped the difficulty and minutes and went through the game. Once I was back to where I was (new season) I swapped it back to legendary. It’s now way too easy. Nothing like before. Winning by loads of goals. What hell is it.

Restarted the same match last night on career mode ultimate difficulty at least 20 times. Noticed that each time I conceded a goal around the 20-25th min mark. If I tried playing possession, the CPU would somehow get the ball back at exactly the 20th min mark with the most perfect slide tackles and send a long pass to their striker who'd then volley it with ridiculous power and from long-ass distances to the back of my net!

They didn’t change difficulty in terms of tactics, I don’t see CPU play smarter, just simply their players are faster, stronger and technically much better than same players when I control them. So- you just go to CPU gameplay customisation, where everything is set to 50, and change all by 5-6 points, to make it equal in the game. It’s still much, much harder than legendary, but it’s playable. Me personally, I can play Ultimate and still win 15-20% of matches when I am highly concentrated. But as I said- it’s annoying because they can’t outplay me in terms of tactics, but in terms of strength and speed. It just shows us they didn’t make any serious changes.

It's not just the pace that's the problem, it's the stamina too, they seem to never run out of stamina. For example, my first game after this match, I was playing my own Liverpool save, had a match against Burnley, was 3-0 down at half time, I bring Gini on in the 60th and by the 75th he had the same amount of stamina as Vydra did who started the game, keep in mind Gini has 93 stamina and Vydra has 61. They dont lose nearly enough stamina so they're all able to use that 99 pace to press you literally all game, it's ludicrous.

I literally struggle to pass through the midfield since the AI intercept every single pass and they catch up to you way too easily. It's so unrealistic and ludicrous. Relegation sides play like prime Barca against me and I get smashed at least 5-0. I tried to switch it to legendary but the challenge gap is massive. It's like I'm playing on semi pro or something and whenever I win I just don't feel proud at all cuz of how easy it was. Once again, EA messed it up. They need to fix it ASAP in the next update.

I bought and at first I liked it but now I realised that FIFA is still much better. I have no problems with licences but the game is too muddy. The game tried to hard to be realistic that it's too realistic to not be realistic. MrSisterFister I bought PES as well and even though it can be refreshing after playing FIFA for so long, but it’s nowhere near better. Stop fooling yourself, the defense mechanics are like they’re designed by a child, offsides is like VAR measuring shoulders, fouls get called far too easily, don’t even get me started on skill moves. Even manager career mode has lost its value because FIFA brought in much better negotiation for transfers and has cutscenes as well. There are things that PES does better, but not even close to every aspect. It still needs soooooo much work for anyone that isn’t a contravarian hipster to make a switch.
