Ok, I figured out why the Ivory Coast had to go with Brazil. In order to avoid continental clash with Paraguay, Uruguay or Chile, the first 2 African nations went to the 2 groups headed by South American countries. USA got very lucky with that. If that rule hadn't been in place, they would have gone to our group and given us a real problem.

Depending on who the points in group B go to, the winners play the winners of group A in the round of 16. Possibly: Argentina v Uruguay, Mexico or France. Round of 8: Argentina v Germany, England. Holland, Italy, Brazil, Spain may qualify to the semifinal and final from the opposite side of the table. Tevez, Messi, Higuain. Milito + 1 more FW would be wearing Albiceleste if the world cup started tomorrow. 31 teams will fail to coordinate a successful campaign in South Africa. Vamos El Pipe!

@pein000000 Thats because of Geographical Locations..... Group B and G were occupied by South American Nations (Argentina and Brazil) thats why the first two teams from Africa went straight to these groups....

They didn't do this for no reason, They did it to avoid the following hypothetical situation: Say Argentina and Brazil are drawn in group G&H. in pot3 Chile is drawn with South Africa. for groups B-F all the African teams are drawn. Now we are left with 2 south american teams and Brazil and Argentina's groups.

group A is one of the most evenly matched groups... it has nothing to do with past matches between the teams (even though they can be used to pick favorites) mexico, uruguay, and now france (since they are not at their highest level) are pretty even in skill, and since south africa is the host country they will get a little help on their matches so they will even up with the other 3...and dont be surprised if mexico and uruguay go to the next round
