@@garethbartlett3076 it works in any game mode, just turn on the trainer like it says in this video. I think the main thing is tapping L1 and as soon as you see the intended player make a run, you flick the right stick.

Video request - Could you make a tutorial for complete newbie fifa players. Ways that you should be playing the game, using the basics and common mistakes and pitfalls to try and avoid. E.g, one key take away from your defending video was not to commit, and run back to the goal. Tips like that, but for all round play would really be helpful.

I cant seem to trigger runs when I am on the ball but when i pass then I can trigger the player who had the ball to make a run with the arrows and player lock also works. I dont know what I am doing wrong. I am trting to practice in kick off but on the ball just seems not to work. (i am pressing lb and flicking the right stick)

Same thing here. Only works in like 1 out of 10 times. I think you have to look in the direction of the player you want to make a run

You pretty much have to aim right at the guy, its very hard to do in a intesnse game you will get easily disposessed while trying to do this

Do you not find that the input of L1 + RS flick sometimes does a skill move? Sometimes when it makes them run my player also performs a skill move at the same time stopping me from passing.

@@startstatic No he doesn't. I'm a very experienced Fifa player, can follow simple instructions, but with this one, nothing is happening really. And it is not working with R1 either when the player should come short. It is a bug, certain players are unable to trigger the run unfortunately. The sooner EA admits the sooner we get a patch for that I hope.

Go to the trainer settings and have it on mechanics, turning off everything off except creatine runs if you wish

You have to hit L1 then shortly after gently flick the right stick. I’d go to kick off and beginner difficulty and practice the timing. If it too soon after L1 it just runs, too late then you do a skill move.

If you use this with someone like van dijk on defense before you make a run down field, you can trigger him the same time you start moving the ball foward. By the time you get players and the ball around the opponents box, van dijk makes his way into the box UNMARKED OPEN FOR A FREE SHOT!!
