I love the new Youth academy player faces. I had the beta and was so happy with the more in depth hairstyles and faces

Just some added beards, a few changed lighting, 2-3 new randomised faces and that's all for a BRAND NEW FUCKING GAME that they demand 70$ for. Please don't be satisfied with this shit. I play at least 500-600 hours career mode every year and can't see any significant change here. If they let us edit youth players' hairstlyes, beards and tattoos; now I call THAT a change. But they don't and I doubt they'll ever do which is also the reason that I won't be getting FIFA 22. Last year's position change addition etc will be enough for me to try to enjoy it for another year.

I have a tip on changing the positions on players. Promote them to the first team and select them in team managment and look at their match sharpness as you move them about. For example, my left back was promoted to the first team so I moved him around the pitch and he had +2 and centreback. I converted him and he went from 62 to 64.

Ye i knew that 1 week ago or somethin i once promoted a right midfielder that is 57 ovr, then i selected him in the team management as a striker, and it was a +5 growth, and he grew from 57 to 62.

Tip if you want to cheat the system a bit, set your three scouts a few days apart. Save your game the day before each scout is to arrive. If you get diddly squat in the report, just quit and reload your save. You'll get a new batch of players. Rinse and repeat until you get at least one player you're happy with.

I've been doing this on Fifa for years, but take an International job... scout that nation, any players of that Nationality in your youth academy even under 16s can be called up to the national team before they're signed to your club...so you can give them match experience that way :) Just remember their names so you can search them by name for the national team call ups :) and if you release them from your youth academy then a player slot will disappear from the national team for a time

that's exactly what i do in fifa! . i had a brazilian 64 rated 93 potential cam and i literally brang him to the world cup in his first professional year and subbed him at the end of every game and we got the the final so he grew up by 5! because of the tournament. he eventually snaked me by not signing a contract and moving to real madrid when i managed leeds but still happy how we turned out. rating at the end of the save was 90

I had a fifa 19 career mode and I got to 2034 and every real player had retired, so every player was a youth player, and the best youth player I had was Angelo de la cruz (68-87) with 92 potential and rio Sampson (56-68) with 95 potential. Probably the best career mode I have ever had, and would be so excited to get home from school do I could play it. In the end it just retired me because I got so far 😔

the best two nations that always bring me the best youth is France for CM/CDM/CB/LB/RB and Brazil always come back with the best LM/RM/CAM/ST/CW/RW/LW. I always send scouts there repeatedly. Spain bring back a lot of weak players but with amazing passing ranges which is good to have. Mainly they come as CM/CAMS.

I think the only advice that you left out is to loan youth players out if they are not getting enough playtime. One of my players with really high potential went up +15 on a loan spell, now he is an absolute beast. Not every loan is that dramatic but plenty can give a good ratings boost early career so they can be competing for a role in your squad.

So in my YSL team I did in FIFA 21, I had a ton of players from my academy just stop growing in the 70's or low 80's despite having high potential when I signed them to the squad and pretty regular playtime. I also found dynamic potential to not work with certain regens. I had two players in particular who played nearly every game and still stopped growing in the high 70's. It made me wonder if dynamic potential had been nerfed in FIFA 21? I was wondering if anyone here had any idea as to what stunted so many of my player's growth? Anyways, I'm hoping to have less issues growing players for my next YSL team on FIFA 22.

I had a YSL team too (it was Leyton Orient actually) and did 12,5 seasons with them. I think individual performances affect the ratings the most, which is unfortunate. My striker and no.10 behind him did wonders every season and now are 98 ratings both and I don't think they were potential to be specials in the first place. In my experience, center mids suffer the most from this and their progress slow down. My defenders and my GK are also developed incredibly. And also they need playtime. This showed effect in my third or fourth seasons. My team was quite settled but youth academy was still producing, I promoted them and loaned them out for 4-5 years and they improved there regardless of how themselves or their team performed.

Tip: if you want an op talented gk from your youth academy. Send scouts to western African countries (must be 5 star 5 star) such as Ghana Cameroon and Ivory Coast. You’ll get at least 1 or 2 massive talents in 3 months of scouting. I got an gk from Ghana 16 yo already 68 overall. 19 yo now and 81 overall already

Question: when I get the scout report there are two ranges, the overall and the potential. The video explains well the potential…. But for example… I have a player to sign with ovr 50-66 and pot 74-94. When I sign him he comes to the academy but his overall is actually 50. In this case is he still able to reach 94? Or will he maximum reach 74? I once got lucky to get a 15y old with already overall 64!! That’s tru potential to me

15 yo with 64 overall is not insane. It's just ''good'' and at maximum ''really good''. Anyways, the 74-94 rating means that the player basically is guaranteed to become at least 74 rated and his potential lies between 74 and 99, because potentials given can never exceed 94. The potential will later on be narrowed down and it's dynamic so based on performance the potential can increase or remain the same (can't get higher than 94 potential, but the overall can)

set one of your scout instructions to 16-19 with the promising attribute, usually works for me i found a winger that was 17 and 74 rated with 90 pace and good dribbling

Anyone else struggling to scout cb to the youth squad? Physically gifted don't return any anymore.... can't scout any cb in any player types...

Do players still improve if you don’t use it in your whole selection? Can you keep the talented players there till they are like 18/19?

you’ll end up getting an email saying ‘youth player unsettled’ if you don’t promote then after you get that message they will end up leaving.

I understand the concept of the youth academy, but my question is, why does my 91or 94 potential players reach their potential 79,81,85, etc... Not 91 even though they play often and they’re happy (wage are in thumps up too).

The club give me challenge to buy 3 players from Europe but the counter don’t go up when i buy them. Did you find this bug too?

Is it always best for development to leave players in the academy until they ask to be in the first team? Or is going on loan or making a few sub/cup appearances for my team better?

It depends If the rating is high enough for the first team you should keep him for fun. But actually players grow the fastest when they’re on loan. They need a high potential, should be rated 60 at least and loaned to a weak club that is successful in its league. I compared three goalies with 65 rating and 85-94 potential. The two that were on loan grew by 4 in 8 months. The other one only by two, despite being 88-94. Actually if players are like 78 rated and have a great potential of 88-94 and are already part of your team you Should Lost them Top Team like Madrid or Dortmund. After 1 year he could be 87 Rated
