You do need someone to ground the rest of the team back to reality and try your hardest even in the face of adversity. To remind them that this is their job; it should not cost them their emotional well-being while still being passionate about what they do.

Very cool player, Kroos! He's very kind to say they were lucky in the end. I saw the final live, and then saw it again. Argentina played the 1st half and about almost the first 10 minutes of the second. After Messi broke away and had that shot that he skewed wide, it seemed that they basically retreated into defense. Just like in the semis with Holland, it seemed like they were just playing for penalties. From pretty much the 55th minute onwards, it was only Germany who was trying to win the game. Stats wise they totally dominated 60%-40%, and most of the game was played in the Argentine half. But Argentina played defensively because that was the only way they stood a chance of winning. If they had come out and played offensively, I think Germany would have scored at least 2 goals in the second half.

i think argentinia and germany teams were pretty much similar in quality. argentinia didnt use their chances and germany was lucky in the end. dont understand me wrong. if u see the whole tournament they deserve it but....argentinia would deserve it too. every team needs a portion of luck in cups like that. if its brazil, italy, germany...or especially in the european cup portugal. every player and trainer will tell u this...u need a portion of luck too.

To me the final between Germany and Argentina was a game based on luck. Both teams had equal chances to score and take the lead. They were pretty much equal but Argentina made a slight mistake and Germany I think got lucky. But Germany did have outstanding team effort more than the other teams and the match between brazil was great proof and that match was like what he said they don't depend on one guy to do all the scoring like neymar messi and Ronald were suppose to do. And their teams were set up to work around them. Germany did great even though I wanted brazil to win it
