Does the dual output (USB & XLR) of K688 operate alternately or can they be used simultaneously? If they can be used simultaneously, is it possible as a backup in case one of them encounters an issue? How about AM8? Can the USB & XLR be used simultaneously? I appreciate your assistance.

Great video man, do you think it’s possible to fix the muddy sound in the mids with an equalizer or other filters? I ordered one a couple days a ago cuz it was inside my budget and saw positive reviews about it. But most people pointed out the muddy sound in the mid to highs so I was wondering if it’s possible to improve it

It is definitely possible to EQ these and get a better sound . I've used it again too and it can sound pretty nice with a few tweaks .

Fifine has some incredible bargains. I bought a cheap FIFINE T669 when I first got started with my webcam and I am still satisfied by the quality so I haven't upgraded. But, for shotgun mic, I have a Rode Video Mic Go 2. I am looking for a setup for my son and I for gaming. I think I might have to go with a wireless Lav to isolate our voices from the sound of the controllers. Any recommendations? Maybe a video idea for you? I don't need it anytime soon but would like to get your opinion.

I feel like saramonic is a great value for the price. I use final cut pro x and I love the voice isolation setting. It helps a lot in keeping out unwanted noises. Also with the included lavs you can have the mic close to your mouth and you can turn down the preamps in your cameras.

Yeah sorry if you don't like the proximity effect. I like the tone I get from using that technique. This mic is great and a lot less gain hungry. If you talk straight on at about 4-6 inches away you get a very nice sound.

@@TwoTimesRmedia So your 688 sounds a lot like the 669 I got despite being different kinds of mics. They're both bottom heavy and a bit dull in the highs and lacking presence in the midrange. More of an AM radio sound than an FM radio sound, if you know what I mean. Seems like it's kind of their signature sound. I put a boost slope starting at 2kHz and peaking at +6dB at 8kHz, then tapering back down to +4.5kHz at 20kHz to "take the blanket off" the upper range, and a cut slope starting at 300Hz and dropping to -3dB at 20Hz to take some of the mud out. Can't complain much for $30.
