FIFO LIFE in AUSTRALIA! PT.1

AYO!
Just a little insight into a fly-in/fly-out (fifo) mining camp room looks like. One of the better rooms I've stayed in, if not the best so far! Short and sweet vlog where I play around with video transitions for the first time as well as some creative shots. Enjoy!

Love the video bro!!! For those of you that are wanting to get into the FIFO life i'd honestly recommend staying away from the companies who manage the camps (the pay is horrible and you get treated like dirt) The main money is working for the companies like BHP and RIO who actually go on the minesite. Better rosters and better pay :D

Of course you can! Where I live in Western Australia you have the main city Perth. Two hours north of that via plane you have the Pilbara where a lot of mining for iron ore is done. FIFO acronym stands for Fly-In, Fly-Out. We fly to work and stay here for weeks at a time doing 12 hour shifts. Then when we finish our swing we fly back home aka fly out day. All the employees stay together un a camp for accomidation. Welcome to mining!

@aboutblankjeff Hello 👋 Most common rosters are 2/1 (two weeks on, one week off) 8/6 (8 days on, 6 off). I'm lucky I get to pick and choose where I go and how long for. But since my breakup I've been going relentlessly hard doing all available shifts with not much breaks in between. Building the empire! Thanks for stopping by!

Hey man thanks for watching! There’s heaps of different rosters it will really depend on what you do and who your employer is. Experience and qualifications will definitely impact how much you could potentially earn. At the end of the day though it’s the money you’ll save by not having to buy daily lunches and dinners, as well as not being able to spend money. Not to mention the 12 hour days you work 7 days a week which definitely adds up. I highly recommend it to set yourself up and it’s a good experience to at least try.
