i mean... for me 1 series won everything, cuz if he would know to drift it... there s no way he would lose =]] i have a 118D 2.0D 2011, i love it, you can be confortable while drfiting at almost 45 degree angle XD but it s about skills, he does better a racing line then sliding ,witch is normal XD still, i m so impressed , ofc my 2.0D 215Hp wouldn't be able to beat that porche but we re talking about a 1 series beating a porsche XD it s nuts

@Synicade I'm italian. We always had italian cars and lots of problems. Now we have almost only Toyota. The last summer I had the chance to drive a mighty Chevy Suburban for two weeks around California, Arizona, Iowa and Nevada......what a blast! I'm sure I could go to Mars and back with that beauty! Reliable, comfy and absolutely top notch!

+DirtDude117 +pilotagepassion I think you're both saying the same thing. I might be wrong but I think he's talking about the electronics faking a "mechanical" LSD.

Electronics are not LSD. Electronic slip intervention is reactive and a fucking travesty. If you had ever driven a car at the limit EVER in your life you would know this.
@BigUriel6 жыл бұрын
"Electronic LSD" is just marketing talk to fool people who don't know much about cars. It has no LSD, the ESP just breaks the inside wheel when it detects spin.

agreed top gear is now utter shit. old cars are all now branded as crap and bits happen to "fall" off. You note how there's always a camera sat at the side of the road to capture an "accident" on a trip. They have a "race" where you have to obey the speed limits-so the car may as well be a cheap family saloon. Again-to film at the side of the road the crew has to go ahead of the car in the "race" to set the camera down to film the car in said "race" speeding past, the crew then put the camera away and catch up again (in their van ! ) to do the same again.
@knifedance24023 жыл бұрын
@@adm924s Right. Because old cars are mostly crap compared to new ones. A lot of people just still like them.
@adm924s3 жыл бұрын
@@knifedance2402 It's nothing to do with them being worse, their doors don't just fall off, accidents don't just happen where a camera is positioned, races where the car that's "racing" against a train etc KEEPS getting overtaken by the film crew to film a driveby shot.... It turned into a shit obviously staged unfunny sitcom, great if you like Allo Allo or you're not really interested in cars.
@knifedance24023 жыл бұрын
@@adm924s Oh, that’s completely true. The failures you see sometimes aren’t necessarily due to age, but it is true that older cars are buy-and-large inferior to newer ones.

Fact is, no one will drive their fine German cars like these two maniacs do. I own a Boxster S and I cruise with the top down and enjoy life 90% of time and push it to red line only 10% of the time. It is such a joy to own a fine German car. We live only once and we all should own and drive one, at least once in our life time. Bottoms up(Salute, y fuerze al canute), from Iran

How're you finding the 135i's reliability? I'm looking at picking one up soon.
@DFWsCars7 жыл бұрын
RKE Photography been pretty solid, here in the US they extended the warranty on the turbo rattle & fuel issues (haven't had either). It's mostly been minor trim stuff which is easy enough to fix (visor mirror plastic, had to caulk the convertible window).
@kirkham19917 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply! I'm looking for one with 50k miles or less if my budget can stretch. Turbos are the main worry, but taking the buying price into consideration 4-$5000 worth of turbo repair at worst wouldn't be as bad as it sounds...

Drifting ? These guys are nuts, these aren't made for drifiting to begin with. It would need more mods to get anywhere Drift ready. how about just track time, becasue that what some owners of these cars will be doing on the weekend. How about just some long trips and let see which car make a better pleasant trips. How about bling factors? Is all related to what most owners would do with their cars.

Yes but European cars are more liked in the US than American cars in Europe ( I think, because I barely see any american cars here in europe, and on the internet I see lots of american bmw fans). But somewhere you are right, american cars are straight line powerhouses while european cars are built more for handing in all situations.

Oh wow... I actually can't choose. I'm sure the Cayman S is a helluva lot better though. I've driven both a 2000 Boxster S and a brand new Cayman, and despite the Cayman being a full generation ahead, the Boxster was much quicker just because it was an S. But... the 135i is twin turbo'd, and I do quite like BMW... it's close.
@SRBZoran11 жыл бұрын
I know, its easier to get to know about that on internet. I just say that if somebody wants to buy a car like one of those he should test them and see which one is best for him. I can't believe how many people are talking about acceleration... The real thing is time on track, feeling you are getting when driving car, difference of 0.2; 0,3 s more to 60 or things like that are stupid and you hardly feel that. Balance, driving dynamics and many other things are much, much more important!
@ultramarine1314 жыл бұрын
@Emzieroy, not true. BMW's tag line is "The ultimate Driving Machine", so it had better be able to back it up. In this case, I'd say that it's the Porsche that has the disadvantage, considering the BMW has 60 bhp more, not to mention the extra 100 ft-lbs. And adding mods to the BMW wouldn't necessarily be the answer, especially considering it doesn't need more power.
@dreadfest14 жыл бұрын
@chris2586 i could say this true of a 128i. however, a 135i cost more then a 3 series that are not 35i. it also cost more then the x3...

I don't know the porsche cayman, but the 135i actually does not has so racing orientated spring damping. That meaning it should make significant body roll around the column. If replace the shocks and trusts w/ harder damping, and the stock brakes, it should do great on track.
