Fifth Sunday in Lent || April 3rd, 2022

AS WE GATHER
The plot thickens. As we approach the climax of the Lenten season, we see the enemies of Jesus following Him ever closer, their intentions ever more evil. The great irony of the situation was that they saw themselves as the guardians of the mysteries of God, the righteous, religious protectors of Israel. Jesus pointed out their wickedness in today’s parable of the wicked tenants, at the same time predicting His death. “The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone.” The rejected stone becomes the main one, and the mistake was made by the builders who should have known better. What will we do with the stone?
