I am now 100% sure I will be selling my Class A I bought 18 months ago and going with a rig like the one you have… with a rig like yours is your truck a 2500 or 3500 ? I want to make sure when I am in the mountains I have enough power and correct vehicle to pull. I think bigger the better .. my son in law thinks different
@AdventureEndeavor19 күн бұрын
Personally always go diesel, just for the exhaust brake. Just look at the payload numbers
@matthewknight56412 жыл бұрын
Number one reason should be.... the weight distribution on your truck. Safer and more maneuverable are up there on the list also
@AdventureEndeavor2 жыл бұрын
That is definitely a good reason have you seen this video? kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHvCqYyehalop9E

You guys have a beautiful home, we sure enjoyed our 5th wheel ,your so right about the space in a 5th wheel, so much better to hook up than our T.T. Good video guys, enjoy life , you won’t regret living life now instead of waiting any longer, 😊

Thank you Mildred! We truly appreciate the kind words. Our 5th wheel has been good so far!

Hello. Thank you so much for the video! We are getting once close to this one. We are looking for a Dodge Ram 3500 6.7 Cummins. My question is do I have to have a dually? I see you all don’t have one and it seems like you all pull it just fine. I would rather not get a dually
@AdventureEndeavor2 жыл бұрын
We do not have a dually. You'll just have to check the weight of your trailer and your trucks payload. Definitely get a 3500 minimum though.
@Truckmechanic9493 жыл бұрын
I'm curious about the box ride height of your truck box I'm leaning bumper tow myself having a lifted 3/4 ton dodge with oversized tires (285/75R16)
@AdventureEndeavor3 жыл бұрын
Yeah we have had issues with it hitting the bed rails on more offroading type situations. We have 35 inch tires and a 3 inch front lift and 1 inch rear lift. So might get tight at times.
@mtemp2084 жыл бұрын
Did you ever figure out what your pin weight is? Or what your Carbon model number is? Do you have factory coils in the rear?
@AdventureEndeavor4 жыл бұрын
No so sorry, our trailer is a 364. We have Carli suspension rear towing coils, 4 2.5 inch shocks and air bags its a wild set up!
@mtemp2084 жыл бұрын
@@AdventureEndeavor Thank you for the info. I'm not the payload/GVWR police, but your pin weight is 3000lbs and your payload is around 2400, just be careful. Looks like your airbags are able to level the truck back out even with the Carli multi rate coils? Thats good to know. I have factory coils and AirLift 5000s as well in the rear, thuren stuff up front. Been considering thuren coils in the rear to soften the ride and wondered how well the airbags offset hitch/pin weight. Clearly leveling out 3000lbs on your rig proves the bags are more than capable.
@AdventureEndeavor4 жыл бұрын
Yeah the bags have been great with the day star cradles. We have a couple videos on the subject that show our setup better.
@mtemp2084 жыл бұрын
@@AdventureEndeavor two more questions; how much psi are your typically running and are you using the regular or ultimate airlift 5000?
@AdventureEndeavor4 жыл бұрын
We normally run at 70 psi on the bags, tires at 80 rear 60front, trailer tires at 80. I think the regular 5k bags. kzbin.info/www/bejne/inzaimajfb-Jo8U

Thanks for the video! Great information. We were going to get a Class A diesel rig, but in case it broke down they would have to have the rig and we have 6 cats. ugh. But we would have liked to see how you actually did back in to that challenging spot you showed. Important stuff. Take us along that sort of issue fully. Thanks you guys!!

I keep getting lectured by people that a fifth wheel toy hauler should be using a minimum of a 3500 ram to tow these. Just don’t know who to believe.
@AdventureEndeavor3 жыл бұрын
It all depends on your pin weight. We do wish we had a 3500 for more wiggle room but this does get the job done. Hope this helps we have been full-time for almost 2 years.

Chingadera AND ding ding ding at the same time. Awesomeness!! Ordered our 31 foot ORV travel trailer back in August. Should be ready by March. Also ordered RAM 3500 should be here this week! We went with travel trailer due to height outside. This is our first RV of any type and already dealing with length didn't want to deal with height as well. Also wanted to keep the back of truck open. We will see how it goes. :)
