Pete, why did you put the CLBC inside so early? We can usually grow outside until November 20th here in central NC. Do you have an earlier frost date? So the CLDC rotted from the rain? Thanks for the videos.

There are several reasons: 1) Much of my backyard is shaded now by some trees growing to the south. The good spots that are still left are taken by varieties that I consider to be a higher priority for ripening; 2) Growing conditions are worse now outside than they have been all year. SWD is rampant, weather is cooler, little direct sun, rust is taking over, and then of course there is rain; 3) I am experimenting with the use of grow lights. This requires some trial and error with the method.

The figs were poor quality because they finished ripening when there were no leaves on the tree. This occurred inside the grow room because I used a poor watering strategy when I began ripening them in the grow room, causing the leaves to drop

Good questions

When the figs are done, there’s another plant you can grow in that grow room.😂

I need to send you a cutting board and a straight edged knife for cutting figs. Also cutting rotten fruit along with good fruit just contaminates all the fruit, it's best to clean the knife if you don't want to eat the spoiled bad fruit.

It was only moderately spoiled 😁

You need more lighting what You have isn't enough and I've found that it's hard to prevent leaf drop bringing them inside it's just the part of it

I agree there wasn’t enough lighting. I set it up for cuttings and needed more to ripen the fruit
