The artistry in this pen is outstanding. Thanks for sharing. I'd LOVE to see more of the sunset peacock. Wow!

David, thanks for another review of a wonderful pen. It absolutely radiates the time, talent and energy required to produce a pen that is also a work of art. While it's not in my budget, neither are a lot of the art works I enjoy the most. I don't feel deprived because I don't own a Matisse! Some things that are uber-expensive, like any outrageously overpriced Rolex, I wouldn't buy even If I had the money. I appreciate he time, energy, skill and thought that go into making a pen also a work of art.

Such an amazing piece of art - thank you for showing it to us. I love the intention to detail that they put into it, the stars are a reference that the tiger is a nocturnal hunter primarily, so nice to see that incorporated rather than a fanciful and perhaps more stylized design.

The ink reminds me of Pilot Iroshizuku Syo-ro and Akkerman Zuiderpark Blauw-Groen in both the hue and the blue-to-green aspect. Love those inks that sit between the colour of pine needles and algae.

I retired late this past summer and have taken up drawing and watercolors -- both of which give me new found, deeper appreciation for the talent and labor that go into such a beautiful pen! I don't begrudge them that price point. I also like Taccia as a brand but alas that price point is beyond me so I'l l settle for enjoying your reviews and using my Taccia Spectrum.

Yes, this is definitely more of an art object, that also happens to write. I see the Emperor of Japan writing with it

I just ordered that exact pouch for my Custom 823! I’m glad to see that you’re a fan of it. I liked that it’s made in Japan from Japanese fabric.

I totally understand the price point! So much work has gone into this piece of art, and it is simply gorgeous! 😍 Wouldn't it be great to have unlimited pen budget?? 😊 Very cool ink as well! Thanks, David, for showing this beauty!

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of black and gold in general (too bling-bling and common in my taste), but I admit this Chinkin Tiger edition is handsome, well judged, elegant, the quality, the details, it's really stunning, the hefty price tag is definitely deserved given the high level of craftsmanship and the luxury materials (except the plastic feed which is quite a blot on the landscape), though it's quite a shame it's not either on giveaway 😅 Hello from 🇨🇵

Thank you for another great review! I do appreciate seeing pens that are completely unaffordable for me, it's interesting to see what is out there for when I win the lottery :)

Beautiful pen. Given the care and hours if not weeks in making this pen, it is understandable how the expensive this pen is. I own a King of Pen and love the size and feel of the pen in my hand. The nib is wonderful and I am sure this particular pen will write wonderfully. I find it interesting that the gold content of the nib is 18K, not the 21K found on my King of Pen. Great review, David.

I do find it puzzling as to why when Sailor is creating an ebonite pen, why they don't use an ebonite feed? Just a question. I prefer an ebonite feed, but it's not a deal breaker. I'm just amazed at the Japanese artwork on these pens.

You've got to stop showing that Fossils In the Sky pen. I can't afford the 2nd mortgage I would need to buy it, at least not at these interest rates.

Fabulous pen. I have two Taccia siblings of this pen, with the same material and finish but different colors and patterns. The large 21k nib of the Sailor KoP is of course truly sublime and one of a kind. So, to have that nib on these Taccia pens is a sweet thrill. The price is really very steep. But luckily I could afford it and wanted it enough to actually buy two such pens. I forget the names of mine. Cool review of an even cooler pen.
@ironmic9244 Жыл бұрын
That puts you at 5 KoPs right? My question is, in the showdown between your Auroras and your Sailors, who wins out?
@sajjadhusain4146 Жыл бұрын
@@ironmic9244 ..Hey, how cool that you actually remember that I already own three KoPs., besides the two beautiful Taccia pens. 🙂 Gosh, you just asked me the toughest question of the year, so far. Aurora and Sailor gold nibs are my runaway favorites. I own and have used ALL the different nibs (except EF) from both Aurora and Sailor. The medium, broad, zoom and music nibs are my favorites by Sailor. And the medium, factory italic, stub, and specialty Goccia and fine-flex nibs are my absolute favorites from Aurora. So tough to call! But if you force me, I’d just go with Aurora. Both their 14k and 18k nibs, across the size point spectrum, are just uniformly lovely. I just like Sailor’s 21k nibs far more than their 14k. And the KoP’s large nib is to die for. Somehow, Aurora still wins! ❤️

@@sajjadhusain4146 I don't have much experience with Aurora. I have the Cento Hastil and Tu. Both are beautiful pens, but too small for me. The Tu is probably going to be sold, if I ever decide to start selling pens. The Hastil is just too unique to give up. I can write with that every once in a while. I keep getting attracted to the Mamba, but just haven't bought it. The rest just don't have that pull for me. The Optima looks nice, but just not able to be interested.
@sajjadhusain4146 Жыл бұрын
@@ironmic9244 …I love the Hastil. It’s very unique and an outright classic beauty. A slim supermodel, in a sense. 🙂…I have two: one in rose gold, the other in ‘vermeil’ (sterling silver overlaid with gold). I have the Tu. Writes smoothly but a bit too drily for my tastes. I use it often as a daily carry stand-by. Aurora’s Cento models are really cool. I have the Ipsilon Cento model. The black with red has a wow factor to it that is all Aurora’s own. Aurora’s designs don’t appeal to everybody. Many find them somewhat boring. I have heard of that before. I’ve always loved them. It helps a lot that their nibs suit me so swimmingly well. I’m also extremely fond of Montegrappa pens.
@ironmic9244 Жыл бұрын
@@sajjadhusain4146 The Cento editions are very cool. I love the way the Cento Tu looks, and that tapered design is very unusual. I love the chrome cap, but the grip section is just too thin. I have it in a broad, but it writes more like a medium, and as you say it is on the dry side. I wanted to get the Cento model that started with 'T'; can't remember the name right now. Funny you mention Montegrappa. I was previously going to address another Italian company I have limited experience with, but thought it was off subject. I only have the Fortuna. Very nice, smooth writer. Most of my pens are Italian, but those two seem to have escaped the gravitational pull. I don't know if I will I can address any attention on them, because Italian pens that do have my attention at the moment are SCRIBO and Santini.
