This scene was filmed not far from where I lived at the time. I saw Pat Morita at the restaurant down the street from this gas station called the Four Corners ( which js a Shaw’s supermarket now ) . I will never forget seeing Pat Morita sitting at the restaurant bar with a giant cuban cigar sticking out of his mouth. Mr. Morita seemed like a genuinely kind & generous man, he signed autographs for everyone who asked & paid for several peoples dinner & drinks.

Shouldn't the owner of that dog call it by name telling it to get away from Julie saying something like, "get over here lay down and don't move" especially when that one guy said "what are you doing?" from 0:58-0:59 was like he was saying, "don't just sit there keeping quiet, call your dog away from that girl?" If that dog attacked her, Mr. Miyagi and Julie would have a right to sue him. Especially since I think the guy wanted his dog to attack her since everything failed for him seeing the look on his face at 1:22 along with seeing how his dog became a coward then.

This was easily the weakest of all the Karate Kid movies. The villains were cartoonish and the dialog was lame. Pat Morita looked like he was just going through the motions. I will say that Hilary Swank's acting certainly improved after this.
