I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to see a musical theater actress who is not a cookie cutter and smashes the idea of being type cast and absolutely kicks ass in every role she plays! You have inspired me to audition outside my “type” and go for roles I think I could smash, even though I may not look like what people expect. (I’m curvy and 6ft tall which is interesting in theater 😂) amazingly, I’ll be playing Nancy in Oliver this summer and I never would have auditioned for that role had your awesomeness not inspired me to do so. 💕

Cake mascara was actually how all mascaras used to be! They're water activated and really cool. You might have an easier time using the spoolie they provided to apply it, rather than the brush that it came with, so give both a try!

I love that you're showing and explaining in depth the workings of theatre. I'm a stage manager and quite often performers don't go into the production/creative team's side of things. Hearing you talk about fight calls etc makes people more aware of the work that goes into theatre outwith the performers. Makes me happy!

it’s beh-sah-meh, which means “kiss me” in spanish (the founder is latina). if you’re confused, just look up “sunrise” from in the heights, nina sings the proper pronunciation during the song

The Swish of the Curtain is one of my all time favourite books! It's about a group of children who set up their own theatre, and it's such a good story! It came out in the 1940s I think, and the author has passed away now, but it's one of the most gorgeous stories ever. And Pamela Brown was only 14 when she wrote it! I really hope you enjoy delving into the world of The Blue Door Theatre Company! Xxx

Fun fact about The Swish of The Curtain - it was published in 1941 when the author was only 16! It's a brilliant book, the first in a series about a group of children (later adults) who start their own theatre company and write all their own plays and music. It was one of my favourites as a kid, and honestly, I think its a must-read for anyone who loves the theatre!

i know there is a very small chance carrie will see this but i just wanted to say that to her if she does see it that im going through and rewatching these videos, i found her channel through them and she is an inspiration to me and many others, i really miss theatre and i can't wait for the theatre's to be open again and to see Carrie back on stage and maybe even get a chance to be onstage myself. Carrie is truly amazing and i can't wait to see what else she will achieve, i was lucky enough to have seen her in heathers and i hope to see her in more shows in the future, she is my idol.

Oh my goodness The Swish Of The Curtain was one of my absolute top 5 books growing up... Read it until the cover fell off! It's very old, one of those very British, archaically delightful yet strangly ethereally inspiring stories. Think Noel Streatfield with a younger and completely unpretentious yet joyful authorial voice. What a classic, I'm so glad they're bringing it back again.

bess-a-may is how most people I know pronounce it. I use their victory red lipstick, the 1941 reproduction lipstick for all my vintage events/pin up looks. Their 1946 lipstick is the one that was used for Agent Carter

Omg Thursday 31st of May made me cry 😭 I performed in the closing show for the Hall For Cornwall on Thursday and I keep crying every time I think about it. I own multiple Besame products, they are pretty wonderful. I really like the mascara cake, it can be used as eyeliner and eyebrows (color probably too dark for yours). I adore it as liner and mascara and it really works surprisingly well. It is too dark for my brows. Their lipstick is amazing btw!
