Fight over girl ends in 16-year-old shooting classmate at Seminole High School, police say

I am a student at Seminole. I can’t confirm this is how it happened, but in the mornings, the building to health academy is sometimes left open slightly to allow kids to get in from the senior parking lot easier. Especially when it’s cold out, this is a lot more common. You don’t need to go through the front office and can easily smuggle things in that way.

@@deek64dk well I'm not quite your age but my youngest is about to turn 21 and my oldest is 25 and all 3 of my kids know how to use a fire arm safely and effectively, but more importantly they know right from wrong and how to be productive members of society. They weren't taught they get a trophy for just participating and we also made sure they had great problem solving skills and highly effective emotional coping mechanisms. Even our middle child who is legally blind and on dialysis contributes to society through mentoring. We are and have always been involved in their lives without helicoptering. We treat each of them as different individuals with different personalities and never compare them to one another. They still come to us for guidance when needed and we are always there for them. They also know you don't own the person your involved with and if it ends wish the other well and move on cause they weren't meant for you. I get from their friends coming to us for guidance as well, that we are a different breed of parent than what's out there because our kids do come first emotionally mentally and physically, because they are the future and their kids are too. Neither my husband or I grew up in healthy environments so we decided to stop the cycle for future generations.

@@NoahBodze A lot. I went to Chicago Vocational High School. It was, at the time, the largest vocational high school in the U.S. It taught trade-craft for many trades. We had foundries, machine shops, print shops, wood shops, body and fender and engine shops. I chose ELECTRONICS. My teacher was Ray Shapiro a very fine, patient, man. And, yeah we had fights. There were basically three cliques. White, black, and latino. Each had their own watering hole. I remembering occasion, in the hallway, a bunch of white guys were rat packing some black guys. For some reason, I joined the white guys. Then I thought, "Why am I doing this"? Why aren't I helping this guy"? Cowardice, herd mentality? I dunno.
