I have shoot this video in Macedonia, 2015 early spring. Shows Sarplaninac dogs and some mixes (crossbreeds) used for fight and livestock guardian work.

These are Shar mountain dogs.They are native to south Kosovo,north Macedonia and northwest Albania.

No my friend it's just been tradition. which is wrong I know. but instead of walking in a ring they determine champions by wrestling their dogs where only a little biting happens. Thesee dogs skins are very tough plus that coat so they don't get that damaged. no one fights to the death. whichever dog tires out first usually loses. no one dies.

Because the livestock guardian dogs are much more fight dogs then english bull terriers. These english dogs are only specialized in a wrong way.

we have thousands of years of English mastiffs killing wolves in my country before guns ! we know the procedure very well...we have the ultimate sheep dog> border collies since we have no wolfs left.. by 'wrong way' i assume you mean bull terriers can only fight to the death and not watch a flock....you'd be correct ! They would fight the sheep then try fighting a full pack of wolves and get eaten😆.
