With everything that's been going on the past few months, this song has been ringing in my ears. Every single lyric perfectly exemplifies the way I feel right now! If you'd have told me even just a few months ago that I'd be where I am today, feeling as free as I do today, I doubt I would have believed you. Over the past 6 years I had to FIGHT for my life... for healing, for justice, to survive, & more than anything, to hold onto hope for the future & the belief that I'm not defined or cheapened by the evils someone else chose to inflict on me.
It's one of the greatest dreams of my heart to be that small boat, that single word, that one match that causes change for good in the world around me... & for the first time in a long time, I feel like I'm actually getting to live that dream. & even still, all of the victories that have happened so far are only scratching the surface of what the future holds! :)
So, my friends, I hope this cover will remind you to keep fighting for your dreams, for hope, for justice, for joy, & for peace. I believe in you! Don't give up.

First of all, incredible work. Truly. Your voice is unbelievable and you can tell that you put hard work into mastering the nuances of a song before you put it up. I admire you so much. Now, if I may, let me explain why I'm weeping right now. In April I had a stroke. In May, I had two seizures. I'm in the midst of recovery, I've lost my job, and I've lost my entire family because the near death experience opened my eyes to the toxic nature of my relationship with my parents. When I made the decision to confront them, not a single member of my family stood by me. They all cut me off. Every one of them. So, I'm recovering from a major illness, unable to drive, out of work, and without a family to support me. My friends are 150 miles away. They're doing the best they can, but the reality is, I'm doing this on my own. That said, I am fighting. Every day. And it's so unbelievably hard. Not a half hour ago I fell out of my wheelchair and hit my head and laid on my bathroom floor crying. And then I got up. And then I saw this video. And I cried again for a whole different reason. This is exactly what I needed to hear at the precise moment I needed to hear it. And it was beautiful. I'll keep fighting because I heard this. I know we're strangers, but just know that you helped more than I've been helped in four months. Thank you. I'm sorry for rambling.

Hi. Me again. I just wanted to tell you that this video is now a part of my routine when it comes to treating my anxiety and depression. My doctors know about it, and when I text my therapist she always asks me if I've listened to Fight Song and we talk about how good it makes me feel. I can't say it's been able to ward off every bout of depression or every panic attack, but it's warded off a whole lot of them. So, congratulations. You're now part of my mental health routine :).
