Roleplay idea: attack psychologically as well. *riposte* -are you sure you wanna attack me again? *parry* -why don't you try a bit harder next time? *trip attack* -don't stand up if you wanna keep breathing

I was thoroughly underwhelmed by this sub class...until I started playing one! I've gone with protection gifting style and shield master feat. So much utility and protection options, but the manoeuvres also allow me to bring the pain!

Riposte goes well with Menacing Attack. Parry goes well with Goading Attack. Trip attack is good in melee.

Could you elaborate why you think Riposte goes well with Menacing Attack and Parry with Goading Attack?

@@kirigakuresaizou3853 Gladly! If you hit with a Goading Attack and your enemy fails their save, they will focus their next attack(s) on you, rather than your companions. If you happen to be low on hit points at the time, Parry will helpfully reduce the damage you take. If you hit with a Menacing Attack and your opponent fails their save, any attack they then make on you will be at disadvantage. This means they are more likely to miss you, giving you the opportunity to Riposte and hopefully hit them again.

You guys should do an update to this video. The new maneuvers give the battle master options outside of combat.

Imo parry should increase AC, i mean, it's kinda useless to parry only 17 points of damage when you're still gonna take 68-74 points of damage.

parry is good at lvl 3, then you can switch 1 manouver for something else each time you learn new manouvers

I mean, parry should let you fully deflect the hit, this is kinda of a wasted manuever in higher levels :/

@@Charlie.G506 it would be too good, as is it's good early game and when you get to higher levels you can switch it for free to something else

It woudn't be that good tbh, remember that you have to spend a dice, and you don't have a lot of them, but it's just my opinion tho.

@@Charlie.G506 well compared to barbarian which has to do a long rest to regain rages and lower exhaustion fighter's superiority dices are cheap - you only need a short rest.

What do they mean by Artisan tools?

When it says you get proficiency in one type of artisan’s tools, it is basically saying that you get to choose one set of tools to be proficient with such as leatherworker tools, Mason tools, carpenter tools, jeweler tools, etc. as described in chapter 5 of the players handbook. These tools are used for specific ability checks as decided by the DM. Thanks for watching!
