This is my first time watching one of your videos. I have to say, I just watched more practical, functional wisdom in these 13 minutes than I think I've ever seen. As the first teacher implied, there's a world of a difference between martial arts sparring and an actual fight, and for all the reasons he mentioned. I began training when I was only a kid, and there's a lot that's wonderful about martial arts of all kinds, but in my experience, most teachers don't do enough to clarify to students (a) those differences, and (b) exactly how any of what they teach is applicable to real-world situations. And by 'real world', I mean adrenaline-pumping, life-and-death, no-time-to-think situations that can happen in an instant. Having experienced a fair amount of both these scenarios, I really appreciate what you guys are doing here, and I think this should be required viewing. Cheers!

Just to clarify on the beard grab. It's "Terrible" to do in a demonstration but not in a real situation, if the opportunity presents itself. Today, you see a lot more guys than ever with full beards. It wasn't always like this where you had every day guys just sporting full, long beards.

Please provide some ideas for an immediate "take down" , for us seniors. I am 71 yrs old, in less than good health, and also have my CCW...but would like to know how to quickly physically disable or stop an attacker, if need be. Thank you.

It takes many years of very hard training and proper instruction from high level martial artists/fighters to take people out in street combat. This is not it.
