My grandma was his aunt....we went to the same school, family reunions and grew up together...everything was cool, he was solid. We supported him before he became the bronze bomber and went to all his fights at browns corner and Shelton state...he used to be a solid dude but once he became a national name, he left his wife and kids, showed up to my grandma's funeral with an entourage and security, refused to take off his sunglasses or even sit down and just outright disrespected my granny's memorial service...people say they're one thing but those who know their story, those who have known them for life....would probably disagree. Ask the mother of his children if he's a solid dude....she'd prolly say nah, he's the type to leave his family cause he got a little money

I remember seeing Deontay at the Las Vegas airport shortly after winning the Heavyweight Championship in 2015. He didn't have a posse, it was just him and one other person and they were flying Southwest like everyone else. Some people recognized him and he was SO humble and taking pictures with everyone that asked. He was so nice and kind.

I can tell that how he spoke, he himself has been through that difficult dark road and showed the strength and courage to climb back up! Never seen a boxer break down like this before over other boxers. It's when you hit the floor and rock bottom only when you understand how others fell down there. His losses really humbled him. This is a life lesson for all of us. We never rejoice when our enemy falls. You don't know the trauma that brought this person to who they are today. Man I felt those words the fights I took just to try and help my Mom get out her nursing home but only to be criticized and laughed at about my losses. Actually there are many people like him! I would even go as far as saying that they're the majority. The funny thing is, that they don't get the spotlight and respect that they deserve. It's often a lot easier to notice the assholes(excuse my French) and unfortunately, they get more press! Some of them have actually been turned into heroes and role models, whilst the true heroes rarely get a mention!
