Eddie is spot on. I can relate to him. My PhD, submitting it this week after 5 years of research impacted my private life in a big way. My family can't write the research for me, this is an esoteric and lonely endeavour. I am eternally grateful for their understanding. In life balance is important but certain activities just entail sacrifice.

@polarit76285 жыл бұрын
This is one of the best Eddie Hearn interviews i've ever listened to. It shows what Eddie is about all over and what he's brought to Match Room and his fighters. Yes he's Barry Son. But he's built Match Room to another level that Barry was nowhere near to at all. This isn't silver spoon, this is working class English mentality because he's been brought up right by his Dad carry on to the next level. He's a inspiration to anyone in the UK from any background. Anyone who thinks Barry has given him an easy ride or his upbringing has been surrounded by a cushy life is clueless and hasn't a clue of how that life works. You don't want to be the kid who brings that rise down or bring true the banter you've had all your life. It makes you more determined.

naaa he makes alot of sense. you ever wonder why like rich people got millions and they clearly well off but then you see them and they kinda on the grind still getting upset and need to be here and there. they could just stop but they cant. more money is better. you get new rich friends who you want to beat. you earn yourself a rolex but now you want a audemars piguet. dont even need the rolex in the 1st place then you shooting for a 50k watch. when you earn alot of money you really find out that it does not make you happy at all. i buy anything i want right now. the happiness is when im purchasing then couple of days of flexing feeling good then i seen it to much and it doesn't mean much anymore. when your broke you think money is going to make you happy but i use to be dead broke and i got decent paper now and the only happiness money brings me is that i dont got to struggle to pay for things anymore. everything else you think money would fix for you does not.

The word 'Amateur' is from the latin 'amator' which mean 'lover'. What is obvious is that there are participants in professional sports including boxing who have no love for what they are doing. They are in it only for the money. On that basis they don't give one fuck for the fans, their own record, their legacy and ultimately they are flipping the bird to the sport itself.
