This is the correct body clock for fighters because fights happen at NIGHT. It's just like any other nighttime work where you sleep in the day so you have all the energy at night. I never understand fighters waking up very early in the morning.It's the wrong body clock setting.
@THISISLolesh7 жыл бұрын
There is no correct way. People are different & do what works for them. You don't have to understand it, if they like it they do it.. Plenty of ATG's did it.
@winterpurple45877 жыл бұрын
D K9, plenty of daywalkers became ATG's because they went up against fellow daywalkers in their entire career. Put them in the ring with a nightwalker and they get an L.
@winterpurple45877 жыл бұрын
jasonflare93, on regular days it's understandable, because as you say... many have daytime jobs. But leading up to a fight? I mean daywalkers still wake up early in the morning even on fight week! Their body starts getting tired when night falls. That's exactly what happens on fight night.

What people didn’t know was Floyd was drinking a club soda and ran back to his house after the party instead of driving home to get his miles in. He enjoyed training camp. He enjoyed working out. I have a job, I pay my bills, but I work things in my life around these late hours. Something about being up at 1-6AM while everyone else is asleep is so nice.. I do my grocery shopping around 1-2AM every time I go. Its nice and quiet out, just me awake. Its nice. Things are alot more calm. I usually workout very late hours too. Theres nothing unhealthy about it. Your body has its own internal clock. 4PM for someone else is 4AM for you and its no difference.

That works for his circadian rhythms but it may not work for someone else. He is right about running AFTER he boxes. If you practice boxing while you're tired, you practice bad habits. Because you're compensating for fatigue, and you don't learn proper technique. Hitting in baseball is the same way. You should never practice hitting or fielding when you're tired. Especially hitting. You will practice bad habits. That's also why you never take too much batting practice. Swinging a bat is an explosive act, and tires you quickly. So you should stop and rest after a certain number of swings. I remember when Michael Jordan tried to play baseball and how poorly he played. When asked about his poor hitting, he said, "I'm taking batting practice 'til my hands bleed." Which made me think right away that he either wasn't listening to his coach, or he had a bad coach. He needed to rest. That's why sports of skill require a lot of time to master. To be really good at something requires time, focus and a skill required during times of diminished fatigue. There is no short-cut to acquiring expertise in a sport.

For a guy who dominates by inches...since he's been champ, all fights are in Vegas. What time are those fights? 9pm usually, right? So because he wakes up 2pm and later, he's trained his body, to feel like an average person, getting up for a morning workout....while most opponents, train early morning, and have so much wasted energy and anxiety waiting for the fight. What time you wake up and go to sleep doesn't matter. But he did mention what makes him the best, he doesn't warm up before his workouts, he doesn't exhaust himself and than go train boxing. This is crucial. I train martial arts and academies will have you doing these warm ups that are a complete waste of time. We could be drilling/sparring, but instead we're doing 100 jump and jacks, it's ridiculous. It takes time away from technical training and actually improving, not to mention you're more tired so you'll do less of the technical training. Floyd is so spot on with his training methods.

Floyd is so right about his training. Why would you exhaust yourself before practicing sport specific stuff like technique and sparring? It doesn't make any sense. I train martial arts and I see this all the time. The first place I trained at had a long exhausting warm up and by the time technical training came around, we were all exhausted. Not only were we tired but classes are only an hour so we could have spent that hour sparring or drilling technique instead of running and doing other types of cardio. I think most places don't train optimally.

all the media laughing while he is describing his regiment thinking he sounds "lazy" not realizing he actually has this down to a science and they are idiots when it comes to a complete workout regiment for a competitive fighter

Floyd training later in the afternoon and running at night is ingenious to how he aligns his training to his fight timing, since he's going to be the main event, fighting on ppv at 9:30PM PST roughly at the least.

Always wondered about (world champion) fighters getting up at 4am. I guess it has worked for tons of all-time greats, however, most championship fights (on the headliner) in the U.S. start around 9 to 11pm EST. What Mayweather says here makes a lot of sense.

What are you talking about? He clearly said that he wakes up at 2:30 he goes to train between 3 and 6. After that he takes a meal and then goes to run. After the run, it's already midnight... If we follow your logic, he would run from 8 or 9AM to midnight so 15 or 16 hours of running... LOL

Khan Noonian Singh and his genetically engineered companions had not been overthrown and driven out in this universe, but rose to command several empires spread over several continents. Before finally turning on one another in territorial and dynastic warfare, and wiping out one another out, Not to mention large numbers of other people with nuclear weapons..... Then they had met the Romulans. At first the encounter had been as tragic and fatal for the imperials as for the earth based space forces in my own universe. Finally as had happened in my own universe, the battle of Cheron befell a dreadful defeat for the Romulans. But there was no negotiations afterwards, No treaty of Algeron, no Neutral Zone. The Imperials had gotten their hands on the Romulans weapons and had improved them a hundredfold. About two weeks after Cheron, the Imperial ships battered their way through the last of their enemies defenses and appeared above the two Romulan homeworlds. Shortly thereafter, one of them, the smaller of the two, was nothing but dust drifting in its orbit. To the inhabitants of the other. After the predictable tectonic events had died down the Imperials ofgered a choice to suffer the same fate or to become a subject world of the earth empire The Imperials were most surprised when the inhabitants of the remaining world on the eve of the deadline for their answer committed suicide en mass. I think that the Romulan empire rather than be ruled by the earth empire comitted suicide so they wouldn't have to be slaves and lose everything they had worked for. Blessed are those who struggle oppression is worse than the grave it's better to die for a noble cause than to live and die a Slave.

At midnight he has time to himself, relax, watch some movies and hang with his children. At 6 a.m. he goes to sleep, and wakes up at 2.30 p.m. Who are these people? Vampires?

1 AM main event fighters. He's talked about this before and it's a really good point. He lives around Vegas, and trains late, because that's when your fighters actually fight. No fighters getting up at 5 am to fight their main event. The main event takes place around midnight, add in fighters who come from vastly diff time zones and that adds the negative effects even more. I was surprised how pragmatic he thought about it
@attiylanen5 жыл бұрын
@@stevetoth7136 Yeah, I guess it makes sense for a fighter. I don't know how it affects his health in the long run, though. But what about that part when he talked about hanging with his children after midnight? His children are up at night? That's a little weird, huh?

I have my dads last check at the Olympic auditorium for a 10 round Main Event. Remember this guy had 19 straight KO's going into the Pro's and was a great KO artist. His timing was off from being blown up in Okinawa during the mas suicide attack. He was paid $125 for that main event, $25 for the manager $25 for the promoter, and $25 for the room and blood towels. He took home $50 for that fight. 10 bloody rounds....1947
