For those struggling at the dragon bridge you can approach the first group of archers and it'll trigger the dragon. Once it shows up run back towards the nest and it should torch most the soldiers. After you've seen big red come back to the nest, haul ass across the bridge. The dragon will come back but it may be a bit easier if you're not confident in your enemy dodging abilities.

No shit....I haven't had the need for walk-throughs since D2 on the ps3. Demon Souls is on another level with its difficulty, the boss fights were super easy though....getting to the boss on the other hand.

A word of critique Cowboy, you are so familiar with this game that you make it seem very easy. It feels a bit rushed, compared to your Nioh 2 or Sekiro guides you give less directional instructions, like "take a left turn, the other path would go there, take the stairs to the courtyard past that little chapel". Slow down a bit especially when it comes to choosing where to go at crossroads, new players not familiar with these levels might otherwise need to rewind a lot to see exactly where you just went. I nknow it's easy to you, but compared to your other guides this one feels a bit to much like a speedrun at times...

I think the opposite. The speed was exactly what I needed. If I wanted a slow guide for a complete beginner to the souls series I'd watch the ign guide. I wanted to see someone that knew these games well and could quickly show me what I missed while going through the zone. This is just what these games become when you've played them. I've legit not even touched this game before but after dying once in this first level proceeded to skip past every single enemy and Speedrun to my stain at the red knight. The games all feel so similar that you just get down remembering where the enemies are located and circle them to avoid taking a hit that will slow you down. Like IE enemy is in a doorway you need to go through, run up just long enough that he initiates an attack, quickly do a half circle behind his attack, and keep running. It's similar to how you can hear an a crossbow fire in any of these games and always be able to time the sidestep mid run to avoid wasting stamina on a roll.

FYI: You don't have to run across the bridge. Just draw the dragon out, run back a little and hide to the left so that the dragon kills everyone on the bridge while you are safe. If you run back too far then the dragon won't use its fire attack.

I make the dragon kill everyone on the bridge, then I lure him back to the hill, and when he fly away from the bridge, I sprint to the very end of it, you have to be fast because he fly back to the bridge in no time

Thanks for an awesome walkthrough. A couple of things I learned on the way that makes a couple of things easier. Instead of charge running across the bridge where the drake appears to cast fire. You can walk a bit out on the bridge and wait for it to appear and then run back while it puts all or most the enemies on the bridge out (before you run all the way across). 2nd thing, where you used the bow to shoot to release the trap (around 6 min in), you can actually just stand on the side of it and hit it with a weapon.

Tip with saving Astrava, if you don't talk to him after you save him he won't move until you do. So you can clear all the enemies before he starts walking.

It's awesome. If you die, just pause the game via photo mode before "you died" prompt. Exit game. Load. You'll show up at the start of the bridge with all your souls.

I am a massive Souls fan. I have put countless days and night into Demon soul, dark soul 1, dark souls 2 and dark souls 3 along with Bloodborne, Sekiro, Nioh and Nioh 2. I always said if they ever remade Demon's Souls I was buying it day one, well, then I found out it was a PS5 game and it really made me a sad panda. I just can't afford a PS5, so instead, I'm enjoying watching you play thru the game that started it all. it sure is great to see it again, the GFX look amazing.

For the trap I just hit it from the side with a weapon instead of messing around with a crossbow. For the dragon bridge, it's easier to just stay at the start of bridge and let the dragon do a first pass to clear the enemies. Then you can run back and get the items from the dragon valley, not nearly as dangerous as Cowboy made it seems. When red is back you can head back to the bridge and sprint across, only two enemies survive the dragon attack.

Word of warning. At 21.16 on video when you jump down to collect one of two items on the ledge. Don’t fricking do it straight after you killed Phalanx and are pumped full of souls if you’re gonna mistime the jump. I died and lost all my souls. Couldn’t for the life of me see where they went. Checked the ledges etc and not there. 😖 Should have increased my strength and vitality etc first. On the plus side thanks to these walkthroughs, I managed to get some decent weapon. Oh and yes, punching the skeletons at Islands Edge is much more effective than edged weapons if you don’t have a blunt one or the speed to avoid them slashing at you. Thanks for the walkthroughs (apart from that ledge one. Think I traded 11k souls for some fecking grass (healing not ganja)! 🤣🤣🤣

Aight I appreciate this. Been speedrunning my ass back through this Everytime I die. Just died to the red dragon. When I was luring enemies off the bridge the dragon came and kept torching it, so I went wait this is my opportunity I can get past the zone he was sitting in earlier so I ran over there, picked up two shinies from the huge pile, he came back, I bolted for the staircase back and got torched. Also not that I know that was a red night I was dying to earlier I don't feel nearly as bad. Because I kept sprinting past the whole zone without the shortcut and getting one shot the moment I tried to fight him, only figured out the shortcut and everything else once I finally died to something during a corpse run and lost the pile of 3000 souls. At that point I finally decided to try the other paths. For someone that has been babied by the other souls games I kept thinking "come on I should be finding a bonfire equivalent any second now". And no it never came. Goddamn were the people that played demons souls back in the day hardcore. Like straight up y'all got put through the wringer. I'm over here using every pathing cheese method I've picked up from other souls games, these dudes were in the era of slow deliberate speed and had to constantly find shit out the hard way. I totally get now how people used to talk about bouncing off this game and never understanding those that got into it. If this had been my first exposure to the souls series I don't know if I would've been the type to tough it out lol. Dark souls gives you bonfires constantly at the start and estus flasks alone make it easier. God damn am I gonna enjoy this game dude. It's not the pants shitting difficulty of elden ring bosses but still makes my heart actively pound in my chest because I'm completely lost and disoriented and just was a sense of security. I love it.

You can save on souls by farming the two-handed sword blue eyed knight (on Ostrava's quest path in the video) for the claymore weapon. I can't comment on drop rate since it dropped for me the very second time I fought it.

For anybody like me that messed up while escorting astora or whatever his name is and accidentally attacked him causing him to be hostile, do what I did. Just panic press your home button, close the game (more commonly known as dashboarding on PS4) and reload back in and he will no longer be hostile

Hey so I discovered this after playing my first time ever and beating the game following the guide for the most part but my character tendency was never changing when I beat the named NPC black phantoms. I had beaten all 5 and never once did my tendency change. And the reason for this was because after talking to the monumental you need to talk to them again and accept the quest by answering yes to it and then you can proceed to defeat the named npc’s in black phantom form. If you don’t accept the quest and defeat any phantom I don’t think it counts for anything until you start new game + and accept it then! I remembered to accept this time and defeated the executioner and for the first time my character tendency changed! I am not sure you pointed that out at any time in your walkthrough but I cannot remember. You may have and I didn’t hear it or remember seeing it.

For the people trying to grab the loot by the dragons before entering the bridge there’s an easy trick that you can do is to go to the bridge first before you keep going out that way wait for the dragon to blow fire on the bridge and then as he’s doing that run to the other dragons location, which will allow you to pick up all the items Without the risk of dying

When I try the bridge with the dragon that way, all the enemies continue to follow me not just the 2 or so that did here. Very little get flamed and I get a mob on me. I had to wait at the beginning and bait the dragon into starting the flame, then crosss after he leaves. Edit: And I just saw your comment, lol. Though crossing the bridge with the enemies wasn't my problem, it was once I got to the other side.

Well, his numpty lost all her souls trying to drop for the grass in the nexus. I can however confirm that you can farm the red-eye knight pretty effectively with the lure him into suicide strat. I did it three times to get back to the level I'd lost, got some sweet fire bombs and pine resin in the process.
