Like bleep out all the cussing, and this is perfect for middle schoolers, because this is their sense of humor. I cannot justify using it with all the cussing though. 4:28 It was not half that decided not to invade it was ALL of the 55,000 militia from New York and Massachusetts. They provided the boats and sent the regular army in first and then they decided not to join them stating that they are a defensive force and refused to give them a ride back to the USA. This is the reason the USA stopped using militias. The main reason the USA wanted Canada is because every land invasion of the USA had come from Canada.

Well the militia men were not wrong With their first point. Their initial establishment and purpose was to be a standing fighting defense force in case of invasion, not an actual army to go on active attack into other countries. However, not ferrying the standing army back kind of was a bit of a jerk move. Because it should still be under the remit of a militia to provide assistance for us Federal military trying to flee from a enemy country into American territory. To provide defense and back up logistics for their fall back Maneuvering. At least this is how I was taught. That militias were supposed to function back in school. But in the end, militia were never meant to be military. They were just meant to be a muster force to act as defence. The federal military was supposed to be the attacking Procedure. A relatively smalls force of about a hundred thousand Just enough to be able to make an attack on an enemy and remind them. Maybe it's not such a smart idea to try to come to our front door step. Of course history makes fools of us all. And so time and tide change things Waiting for no man. Oddly enough, technically, the concept of the National Guard counts as a militia in the sense of they are not meant to be. Even though they are used sometimes as attacking soldiers, they are meant to be purely a defensive force. Again this is what the history books in history classes told me. For all I know, it could have actually just been a secret project to try and figure out A. Way to keep losers off the street. Or get a massive test bed for experimental procedures that the military wanted to use. I don't freaking know.

Militia is not the people, it is a everyone able bodied between 17-45 in addition to the national guard, an organized and unorganized militia in 1903. Since 1933 it’s been solely the National guard. Even when it was able bodied men, it was solely for the call to arms, not for some redneck to round dump into a target while heavily drinking. Stop the cap

The people are every citizen, the militia belonged to the state. So to ensure the militia didn't become oppressive. According to your logic freedom of speech would only apply to states and not individuals. In fact only case that supports your position were made to restrict blacks. But that's what democrats do.
