I used to work in IT security for a large bank. We constantly scanned for variations of our domain name that would be impersonating our bank. Sometimes we would also buy the domain and park it so that no one else could use it in the future.

@smcdonald9991 as an IT security professional, what advice can you give someone who wants to start a career in cybersecurity in Canada? Having work experience as a network and system admin, worked on a couple of IT security projects for school, and really passionate about cybersecurity
@MrSpyLiam2 ай бұрын
@@floriannsabiyumva9621 Look at what skills people are looking for in your area. Most people are wanting CompTIA Security +, read up about compliance standards like ISO/IEC 18043, ISO 22301, and ISO 28000. Then just practice, practice practice. As a sys/network admin you should have some under your belt but ask your boss to see if you can be part of projects that help build your cyber security. I don't know when you did your school project, but a lot of the stuff you did will be out of date. Build a home lab,, I suggest to build a cloud network on AWS and a build a cloud network in Azure and then simulate attacks against each network and try and defend against those attacks. Use Kali Linux, and Windows clients, get your hands on as many different security systems as you can. Once you get in the industry then focus on the systems you need to do on your job. But still handy to keep those other skills handy. Lastly network, talk to recruitment companies, go to events, speak to industry experts, see if someone can mentor you. Cyber Secuirty is one of the hardest jobs to get into because there is only so many junior roles, but is also one if the most high demand jobs especially the further you go up the ladder. Wish you luck bud.

It's a very subtle typo that would probably go past most people, since the rest of the name looks good enough, and it seems they have lots of the wording down (or at least did a modicum of research on what terms to use to "fit in"), but then it falls apart with the typical "Kindly" and "okay" sentence structures... If they fixed that, it'd be scarily convincing to the average person. Interesting new thumbnail btw. Are you moving away from featuring yourself in the thumbnails?

Even funnier when West Africans pretend to be Americans. Are they not aware of their accent? Same thing with Indians calling themselves "Alex Wilson" or "Ron Smith".

@@smcdonald9991 I am an African myself, I can't even get an apartment inquiry over the phone with my accent and these guys wanted $30k worth of cables delivered to them on credit?

*thick west african accent* "yes am in the united state ok", they mumble and sound half asleep most of the time.

Gambia! In ten years of scam baiting, thats the first Gambia I've seen! Been getting a lot of Thai scammers lately. Great work "Ben"

Some in the comments are saying they’re Gambian and this guy isn’t and they have problems from Nigerians coming in.

Hey Pleasant Green! I got hit with a new scam I haven't seen yet. These people message you saying there is a outstanding toll balance on the record and to avoid a 50 dollar fee visit a link.

Awesome video, the captions turned out fine. Hopefully, if you ever do another video that requires that much captions, we can set up the auto caption feature from Premiere Pro to make the editing process easier for you.

It seems that KZbin's auto captioning works quite fine also.

Just sent a scammer $20 to stop scamming and check out your channel for possible advise. Seems like a good dude, just lost in Nigeria.
