This is powerful! Thank you for doing this special. Thank you for posting. The story of the DACA children/young adults touches my heart because it reminds me of my grandparents. Both my grandparents were brought to the United States when they babies. There parents were farm workers in Fresno, California. My grandparents were born in Mexico and raised in Mexico. Eventually my grandparents met and married in Fresno. During the Depression they moved to Los Angeles for work. My grandparents raised 9 children. Their eldest son served in in WWII; was KIA in 1944. My grandparents never became citizens of the United States. Once again thank you for the documentary. If my grandparents were alive today I think they would be in shock by the hate of the anti immigrant policies.

I was born 58 years ago in futon County Georgia. I was adopted by school teachers in Alaska. It saddens and tears my heart apart that people lack understanding because they choose not to see the truth . People who want better lives is that not why families came to the noth american continent hundreds of years ago ? Cities are corporation's they exist because of tax paying citizens the real problem is employers and business that chooses to not pay taxes and hire and pay people under the table . This practice has to be stopped. The business owners who participate in this practice are the true criminals they should be fined and jailed . Yes both fined and jailed and any further activity in breaking the law in this matter should carry greater fines and jail time . People who come to this country and choose education understand paying taxes is part of being a responsible citizen . Business owners who wave the carrot should be held accountable for tax evasion laws and we should create new laws that stop the root of the problem. Local governments should be held accountable as well by federal laws. Its not acceptable practice in this day and age throw all the good old boys in jail and be done with it.

I have many undocumented family members. One of my cousins missed the cutoff for DACA by only a few months. America is the only "home" he's ever known. He's in his 30s, has become educated, successful, raising a family, generally living his "American Dream". He's also in constant fear of deportation to Greece, a country where he barely speaks the language and has no recollection of ever being, and the terror of being barred from seeing his family for many years. All because his parents overstayed a tourist visa before he could even walk or speak so he could have a better life. He's been in the US for over three decades, ffs. This is the only home he's ever know. It's absolutely devastating what immigrants live with every day... especially those who were too young to consent and grew up in the US.

I live in Vermont. I get pulled over constantly for bogus things. I was pulled over once because I "touched the white line twice;" I was pulled over another time because "my license plate wasn't straight on the vehicle." I am not undocumented; I am not African American, but I do feel harassed. I am white, but more than one person has actually said "your skin is kind of dark." I understand the fear that these people have; no one wants to hear it, but I do get it. I basically belong nowhere: I'm not white enough to be truly white, and I'm not dark enough to be black.

Kind of sort of reminds me of how in the book of Acts in NT, the apostle Peter, having been mailed for following Christ Jesus, was set Free from jail with angelic help. A young lady named Rhoda was so excited at hearing his voice at the door she announced it to a number of his waiting friends. They thought she was crazy. The irony was they were praying for his release and got their answer. Acts 12:5-17. Christ has a sense of humor and mixes it in to show us his power even as our faith comes up short sometimes. God will work in the lives of those who are oppressed.
