There was a collection of Tekken 6, Tekken Tag 2, & Soul Calibur 5 on PS3 called Fighting Edition, but it was only in Europe. Also while they're on one disc they show up as separate games in the console.

I'm surprised; not many people remember Alpha 3 didn't JUST have the Arcade version on the Anthology collection! When you beat Arcade mode and hold "Select" on the main menu, the UPPER version is unlocked! A unique amalgamation of Alpha 3 with all the console characters selectable and some hidden music on two stages.

The Dreamcast/PSP Darkstalkers Game is a lot similar to the SF II Anniversary Edition. The character roster is complete and you can select the version of the character you want to play. Some characters like Jedah even have a DS 1 version, even if he didnt appear in that game. The PSP version had an exclusive character, Dee, a mash between Demitri and Donovan. Idk why this one isnt ported yet.

I desperately hope for Alpha 3 Max and Darkstalkers Chaos Tower to be included in a future collection. Not counting licensed games like Marvel or CVS, capcom has around 12-13 2D fighters they could still release in a collection. I'd love a fighting collection volume 2 and a volume 3D for the 3d fighters.

World Tour mode on Alpha 3 was brilliant. It had branching paths. I could see it getting frustrating if people were taking their World Tour characters online though, as there were some broken power ups you could get for characters in that.

That was removed from the Japanese PSP port and can be removed for a new Legends collection. The only reason it wasn't removed in the PS3 digital port was because of Sony's policy on PS1/2 Classic titles where nothing can be changed so Capcom USA had to get it cleared.

Yea, it was on the "Manga Video" (UK distributor) copy I had as a kid in the 90s. D'ya know what, I woulda been roughly _around that age_ too, give or take a year or 2. Fucking every kid wanted to borrow it in school, so I started making copies. It's news to me that _that_ version wasn't the worldwide released version, I just presumed every bloke in their 30s had Vega's "My face! My beautiful face! A lot of the features people love in Alpha and Marvel started in Darkstalkers and it was improved by them as well. Regardless, this collection is just as important to Capcom as SF6, because people need access to these games.

I hope if MK Arcade Kollection ever gets a re-release they allow you to change MK to revision 2.0 for all the Fatality fun! That version was legendary!! For me anyways it was just a perfect period in time of me hanging out at arcades as a teenager in San Antonio. On Xbone there is a workaround for USF4. SSF4 AE is backwards compatible and you can get the upgrade via dlc. If SSF4 AE is on sale then the dlc usually is too.

In terms of fighting game collections, i think a lot of the neo geo ones like the Orochi saga collection, the Samsho anthology, and the ps2 collections they did. I imagine they'll talk a lot about the capcom ones like the street fighter anthology and the capcom fighting collection.

The reason why Iron Galaxy/Capcom couldn't include the X-Men games in MvC Origins is because Activision owned the license to X-Men games at the time. Other companies like Capcom could release games with X-Men characters in them, but they couldn't release any games with X-Men in the title. At least I think that's how it worked, but, at the same time, Konami released the X-Men arcade game in PSN around this time so I could be mistaken. Still, I blame Activision.

Quick note about USFIV it is backwards comaptible on xbox one its just "hidden" to get it you have to get via having a disc copy of the game and it will install it as USFIV or you get it via the ultra upgrade dlc on arcade edition.

Alpha anthology for the ps2 is amazing.. I very recently (like a month ago) put myself through it to unlock every hidden game mode it had and it's so cool having parries on alpha 3, it change the game completely and is not as easy to perform as on 3rd strike cos the sprites are weird like if u want to parry an hadouken u have to parry it before it even gets in contact to your character unlike 3rd strike that is very crisp and well made visually to see when to perform it. They seriously need to re release this it's a shame that is locked down behind ps2 era...

Those KOF, Fatal Fury, AOF releases were coming at a time when SNK was just pumping out budget releases. I think I picked up kof11 and battle colosseum for $20 bucks a piece as a kid brand new.

I picked up almost all the KOF games on PS2 in the form of compilations. I've got the Orochi collection. a pack with 2000/2001, and then managed to pick up 2002, 2oo3, Neowave, and XI seperately, all for about £10-15 each. Same with Fatal Fury Battle Archives & the Art Of Fighting Anthology. I imported a copy of the World Heroes Anthology from Germany. There was a Neo Geo Arcade Archives which had a few of the original titles on it as well, I think it's the original FF, AOF, KOF 94, SamSho, and World Heroes. I picked up that Fu'Un Collection and an ADK compilation with Aggressors Of Dark Kombat & The Ninja Masters on it on PS4, but they're the PS2 versions.

Personally I too would like a Virtua Fighter collection which has every version/revision possible but I feel I am in the minority for such a request. I would even take redone versions of these games using the VF5 engine as long as the full cast is available and the option to play them in VF2 style models is present. The idea of a collection with Power Stone, Rival School and Star Gladiator would be something to see but as everyone from the classic arcade era will tell you a VS collection from Capcom is still the most highly sought after offering ever if it would mean multiple volumes for thematic purposes. MvC2 and CvS2 are still held in very high regards and many including myself would like to be able to play these fantastic games on a modern console with ggpo and any possible arcade variants ala the Vampire series now is. Looking forward to next week's entry. Thank you gentlemen again for this series.

If Capcom and SNK could come to an agreement and put out a Capcom Vs SNK Collection featuring the "mainline" games, and the Neo Geo Pocket games with online I'd buy it in a heartbeat. We only got the 15th anniversary collection on XBox in the UK. I got a standalone version of Hyper SF2 and had to make do with 3S on my Dreamcast, or in the arcade in town. Those GBA Street Fighter ports are really impressive. I loved that version of Super Turbo, but it always used to softlock the game if I managed to do well enough to fight Akuma. There were so many of those SNK fighter compilations/collections put out in the early 2000s. I remember picking up KOFs 2000-2004 all within such a short time because they had them in the Supermarket for about £10, some bundled in packs of 2 games. I think the Fatal Fury/Art Of Fighting/World Heroes collections were only about £15 as well.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy and MK4 are Games i’ve said should be re-released for years in some form but the fact that most of the home ports of MK games from the 90s were made by different developers. I think those tournaments Justin was talking about with SSF2T at EVO, that was when DSP (Darksydephil) was placing high at SF tournaments which also happen to be when they had the terrible versions of Street Fighter 2. DSP used those wins as a way to prop himself up as a "pro player" and is his only real lasting accomplishment in tournaments back in the day.

If you look at the digital track listings of Tekken 2 and 5, they are incomplete. Some of the console tracks are missing. This has been noticed by fans since Tekken Tunes for Tekken Tag 2. People have asked Murray before what was up with that, and his vague response hinted that there are licensing issues involved.

Capcom obsessing over porting the Arcade versions only is why Darkstalkers 3 for the PS1 is still the only version of that game that has the series complete roster. Each of the arcade versions had characters missing who were in the PS1 version. The Arcade obsession has also led to us never getting any of the Final Fight games aside from Final Fight 1 re-released on anything because all the sequels were console games.

I'm still wondering why a Final Fight Collection never came out with Final Fight 1 (Double impact and CD), 2, 3 and Streetwise all with online play. I'm holding out hope that World Tour mode in SF6 didn't cannibalize the leaked Final Fight Remake set for 2023/24 from that Capcom breach. The only things we haven't seen yet from it is that,Onimusha and Mega Man Match from what I recall. So far everything including Dragon's Dogma 2 has happened.

Actually, funny story about the Megaman Legacy Collection. It only has screen tearing and insane slow down on the PS4 version. Playing it on PC, Xbox, or even 3DS is roughly the same experience as the NES games, minus the added QoL improvements. This was done to pay homage to the PS2 version of the Anniversary Collection, which had terrible input delay, screen tearing, and slowdown in places where the original games didn't. A bit far to go for a reference, but Capcom is quirky like that.

I think the problem with a Street Fighter IV collection is that the console version of Super, Arcade & Ultra is basically the same game but with updates similar to how Street Fighter V was handled. Vanilla IV would benefit from it the most though because it had some content that was cut when SSFIV came out (animated cutscenes by Studio 4°C replaced by cutscenes by Gonzo, extra modes missing, intro, original & character select themes replaced and then again for USFIV) so who knows how that would work. As for the other missing Capcom games, is there a good emulator that can properly handle games that used Sega NAOMI and Sony ZN hardware without any issues? There has to be a reason why those have been missing out of collections like for example, the next Arcade Stadium coming out next month.
