I had the "honour" of manning an underground magic box monitoring the Mucumbura cordon sanitaire minefield in 1976 with 4 Indep. RR Not a great time was had anyone, but lots of war stories were authored there. PS Sgt Rob Hicky's brother Gary was in my class at Gifford and lives down road in Perth WA.

As a long term resident of Mabelreign I well remember Stortford Parade and Alfred Beit Primary School (which I attended in the early 1950s).

How about about 48 i used to walk down to Crooks past the Scots man store one night at 48 over 200 gangsters walked into our camp fought all night burnt my hand changing a MG Barrel what really pissed me off was that SAS Spotted the group and they didn't tell us i took this up with an retired SAS guy in Somerset West no comment
