Boars have higher resistance in the head i believe, less in the body.

That explains why they're bullet sponges then, must be a Anomaly/Gamma change since I don't think that was an issue in the originals

You have hunters bagpack in your inventory yet the game is not being generous with mutants parts. There is a mod which gives you all parts of monster when you skin them but at the cost of excessive knife degradation, dont know if it can be installed in gamma.

I think it might be down to the skill mod that levels up "Survival" the more mutants you loot. I'm not entirely sure though
